Not taking the bait Mr. Atomic? Good for you. I am done with this topic, there are seven pages of the Quest boot crap on TGR, I have not interest in kicking a dead horse.
As for data, well I' m sure you' ll agree about the interpretive possiblities of industry data eh? Can't argue about a recall though....we know that Salomon has issued one already concerning these boots. Will there be more in the future, this waits to be seen. I will wait with baited breath.
I actually think we agree more than you realize, only we come at it from different angles. We both concede that their are problems with the 1st generation Quests. However, you are much more understanding and forgiving (props to you), but I am not willing to let them off the hook so easily. I am glad I didn' t buy Salomon boots. If I had and they happenned to fail, I wouldn' t let it go until I was completetly satisfied that the product I am ripping down the mountain with would never fail again (due to manufacturing defect of course, not general wear and tear, I am reasonable). What I am saying, and it is my perogative to do so, is that Salomon will have to prove themselves worthy of my hard earned cash before I consider buying their Quest boots in the future.
Anyway I am done kicking this dead horse. Thanks for the discussion.
Quest recall... but for the wrong purpose
