Skiing w/o gloves or mittens = improved ability?

Let me start by saying 1) sorry if repost, and 2) hear me out before you hate and say this makes no sense

i was skiing today in really nice weather and i came to the realization that i always feel like i can do better without gloves or mittens, just bare hands. i can't really explain why. it just feels way more free.

anybody else ever feel that this makes a really big difference?

When I was at Camp of Champions 2 years ago, Lei Powis would always talk about how he ski's much better without gloves, so maybe you've got something goin for ya.

I've always felt that I ski better when I'm feeling good. So maybe thats why you skied better without gloves

i' with you OP but i use really thin fingerless liners. I ski better when i'm comfortable, no matter how cold it is.

I rarely wear gloves and I can tell you I feel weird and uncomfortable when I do. I'm not sure if it effects my ability or not though.

I prefer skiing with park gloves rather than winter gloves any day I can. I just fell like I can grab better and it makes me feel more comfortable. If you don't rock gloves go ahead and do ya thing, but personally im sketched out that I'll grab mute, slide my hand up, and cut it open.

I rubbed my knuckles raw like no other after I fell w/o gloves on. My knuckles and fingers are now nice bundles of scars because of that. I also bled allover my new pants and jacket. Lesson learned.

i almost always wear pipe gloves, it is just whether i wear them with silk liners or not. usally im warm or i just make a fist and im fine.

i was skiing one day without gloves and fell on a jump, cut my hand bled for about 10 minutes and now i have a permanent scar on my knuckle

you can do soooo much damage if you fall without gloves on. snow and ice become really abrasive at speed

Liam is a crazy Canadian, do not take anything he says seriously. Even on a glacier, i wear thin gloves, because i prefer having normal hands and not sliced up pieces of meat.

It seems like when it comes to taking my gloves off during spring skiing, I always find a way to cut my hands. Therefore, I keep the gloves on for my own safety.

I did it, and it feels fantastic, until you fall and get your hands a foot down in snow. then it sucks, and then your hands look like you have been punching walls all day.

What I want is a waterproof cover on my hands, that lets them breathe and heat themself up. The only reason spring gloves suck is because they get wet, and stay wet.

i did this just in my yard on my pvc rail. fell scrapepd my hand on ice cut up my whole hand. had cuts on my knuckles got infected terrible. just dont do it

Skiing with out gloves is the worst trend I think we've ever copied off snowboarding. It does not make you ride better, you are just looking for an excuse to justify why you are such a fucking trendwhore.

i do it in the spring, but when you maybe drag your hand or knuckle coming off a rail, or jump, skin just gets torn up...i personally like the feel of my line dart pole grips:)
