Ok, so like the title said I just got my first pair of skis and had some questions about maintenance/tools to invest in before I get out and hit the slopes with them next week.
I already cleaned them up good, and I'm gonna take them to get waxed as well as invest in a gummy pad for my edges. Anything else I should do/buy?
Next, I had a couple of questions about my bindings. They are rossi FTX (100's i believe. The din is 3-10). I dont really know anything about these bindings, but from the looks they are fairly old (3-4 years old, and arent that great of a binding.) Any general info on these? I also had some other questions about them
1. these bindings are mounted with the rossi flexplate system. From what I've read these arent good for park and stiffen up the ski some? Is there any way I can remove the flexplate system to reduce weight/add more pop to my ski? Or am I stuck with it until I get new bindings (next season).
2. Looks like the brakes have been bent to fit my ski (93 width), but is still rubbing in one spot. They look all-together too close to the ski imo. Should I just take them off and bend them to fit better, or invest in a set of wide brakes that will fit my ski better? (btw, nice tutorial on adjusting your brakes i found)
any lastly, any other things i should know, or should look at investing in?
