Train Monday through Friday, January 31st to February 4th, with Head Freeride Coach, Nate McKenzie, his staff and current Carrabassett Valley Academy freeriders for a first hand experience of the coaching, mountain, Antigravity Center and academic setting that has earned Carrabassett Valley Academy’s freestyle program seven X Games athletes. Spend a week with the CVA coaches and see for yourself why X-Game contenders Dan Marion, Matt Philippi, Corey Vanular, Boyd Easely and other freeride greats, credit CVA for their success, on and off the mountain.

You’ll ski and train with the current crop of Carrabassett Valley Academy freeriders who are pushing the next wave of the freeride movement. Highlights of the week include on-snow park, pipe and moguls skiing; trampoline, gymnastics and indoor skatepark training at the Academy’s Antigravity Complex, rail jam, and academic blocks to keep up with
your school work.

everyone is missing the point of the thread which is to hook some kid up so he can come ski with the team and learn more about freestyle. For those of you who don't go here you have no reason to hate because its an awesome program and you don't no what your missing. Your saying were all assholes based off maybe 2 or 3 kids who suck but i can promise you there is those kids at every school. Take the hate somewhere else, as for the kid who wins congrats cant wait to shred with you.

I believe that is what you said. the people here are some of the coolest i've met and its really cool that we are fortunate enough to go to an awesome school where i get to ski and go to competitions all the time. so sir i leave you with this, kindly go fuck yourself

i never meant it to be recieved as me saying "all of cva are assholes, i know there are cool kids but it seems the few douchey kids over shadow the nice ones giving cva a bad reputation

cute little claim at the beginning there. I just personally think that 40,000$ a year to go to high school is retarded. Im sure i skied just as much as the average cva kid in highschool without blowing my parents life savings. As far as the kids there go i dont honestly know enough of them to make an accurate judgement but everytime ive tryed complimenting them on a trick or sessioning an element with them they have shrugged me off or given me dirty looks.

oh and I can recall a few times last year where Nick Rosenberger was teaching me shit.

But then another kid with CVA 270es on front swap 450s out hikes back up and tells me he sucks at skiing.

You could have the average grades and go to a really good school just as long as your parents have that cash to back you up.  Money plays a large role as to what school accepts you.  The less they have to give for financial aid the better for that school.  It's all about the money and my guess is that a high school that charges 40K to go to their parents must have a significant cash flow.

I'm out of this thread unless something really sparks me.

All that I will say is:

CVA isn't for everyone.

Just like all schools there are some dickheads.

Some of the kids are cocky

Some are really chill and cool

I ski at sugarloaf and though I may not go to CVA it just so happens that my best friend goes there. He has introduced me to so many of the kids at CVA and I have not yet once met a kid that is mean or an asshole. Who gives a fuck if the kids from CVA win the rail jams they fucking slay and they don't always win anyways. Every kid that goes there works there ass off to become a better skier and some of them feel really bad that there parents have to pay so much but they do it because the school is a great school and kids go far after they leave it. Everyone at that school feels lucky that they get to go there and I would give anything to go there. So anyone who fucking doesn't like the school stick it up your ass and try to become as good of a skier then any of the kids at CVA

Okay i know a kid that taught himself every trick he knows by watching videos and teaching himself how to become better and never step foot in a CVA classroom.  As a matter of fact CVA wanted him to be there coach but his lack of matching clothes and his poles being to short would bring a new revolution CVA wasn't prepared to see.   And there are so many angles to skiing sure the freestyle kids slay the rails and the jumps but how are they out of that element?

actually for a matter a fact we practice a lot of the other elements. On pow days we dont step ski in the park. Everyday we start with a freeskiing lap. Before i came to cva i was an awful skier but i was taught to free ski before park ski. In the spring we shred moguls so that is alot of the elements of skiing. Yet again please no what your talking about before you hate

dude everyone starts with a warm-up lap if you don't then that's shitty for you.  Pow days i'm sure you don't step a ski in the park considering pow is slow and the jumps aren't packed down.  If you did put a ski in the park on a powder day your an idiot.  Cause pow is the filet mignon of skiing.  And in the spring man all there is is moguls. Dude i'm not hating on your ski academy but you guys obviously spend more time in the park then doing other things ski related.  But whatever it's your thing so do it up.

you know our exact skiing schedule its quite phenomenal for someone who has never skied with us before.
we obviously spend every waking moment in the park and have nothing more to live for then being park rats, your observations are as keen as a fucking dolphin.
