Slow motion help

i have my go pro set at 720p at 60 f/s which i means i should get really smooth slow motion right? but when i put it on my mac and bring it into imovie its not smooth at all no difference from my handycam at 30 f/s

soo my question is...is the a free mac friendly software i can use to help

Set the clip to play at half speed and see what it looks like.

thats what im doing but theres no difference of the go pro and like my handycam its still pretty choppy...

Huh, that's odd. Have you tried playing the raw clip in Quicktime at half speed? If it has crispy smooth slow mo in there then it must be some kind of problem with iMovie. If it doesn't play smoothly in Quicktime then maybe you made a mistake and it's not actually recording at 60fps. Other than that I don't know what to tell ya, hopefully someone more Mac/video tech saavy than myself responds.

Yeah, imovie doesn't recognize 60fps...

soo any suggestions on what i could do to make it smooth? like a program i can change it on then import it to imovie

I'm not sure if you can get cinema tools without fcp, but cinema tools will convert your 60fps to 30p at 1/2 speed or 24p at 40%.

could also check this out, works with fce and imovie, its only one program, and u will be able to use it sooner (don't have to dl and install FCP)
