FS Glidecam 2000 Pro

Selling my slightly used Glidecam pro 2000, works great just dont need it anymore and I know there are a lot of ppl on here looking for one.

Selling for about $250 plus shipping, I usually try and pay for half of shipping with buyer so it'll be like $7 or something. Only thing wrong is its missing the screw for the mount, I used my tripod head mount and that worked great.

Uhh... you really should keep your glide cam if you're doing follows with a dslr...

Its really just moving the washers and balancing your top plate. It takes a little bit to get down but you get used to it after a while.

but if you buy a manfrotto quick release adapter for your glidecam, you don't need to balance each time. as long as you don't change lenses on your camera, you can quickly switch from tripod to glidecam. of course, you should always double check your balance, but the quick release makes the transition super fast and easy.

I'm most definitely buying one if I get a glidecam tomorrow (crossing my fingers :D), it would make switching between my 501 to the glidecam so fast

and doesn't $250 + half shipping seem steep for something thats used and missing a piece? They go for $285 shipped on B&H

I hear ya, I mean if someone gives me a legit offer then ill consider others. But the condition overall is really good and if you have a quick release you wouldnt be missing anything...

shit, thanks for reminding me.

there are two common types of manfrotto quick releases, the 357 and 577. the one you get will depend on what type of tripod head you have, if you have the 501 head, i believe you want to go with the 577 but i'm not positive about that. definitely call B&H to double check. if you get a different type of release than the one on your tripod head, i don't think it will be compatible.

True definitely call B&H to verify, most of their staff is incredibly competent as long as you get into the right department. I have the 503 head and use a 577 quick release plate (it hasn't left my Glide Cam since I bough the thing like 2 years ago).

can someone explain to me why a quick release adapter would have to compatible with a certain tripod if it would just stay on the glidecam the whole time?

because you keep the plate attached to your camera, and that plate has to be able to slide into both the tripod as well as the adapter on the glidecam. if you don't have a tripod, then you don't need to worry about it. but if you plan on switching between a glidecam and tripod, the quick release adapter on the glidecam has to be compatible with the plate that came with your tripod head.

I bought this two days ago and I just installed it tonight, I love B&H

I highly, highly recommend it for anyone without one, it makes the transition so fast and you have perfect balance every time!
