Rossignal FKs Problem
Okay, to start off I am 5'11 and around 160 I have my din at 8 in the front and 9 in the back (tell if that is wrong) Just some background in case it matters.
These are my park skis that the FKs the older ones, not the orange ones the black and gold racing kinds.. and they are on (Alpha 1s) annnd here is the core of the issue;
Its early season, I'm still trying to get my jumping legs back on and so I'm crashing a quite a bit, I'm having some problems. But everytime I crash (usually doing 5s) The skis unclip and the breaks go down like the should however, when I think cause they are getting unclipped going switch since im landing that way the breaks get all bent and won't go back up when im trying to clip in, so I've had to yank on them and pull them up in order to ski down the mtn without them dragging. So what should I do? Anyone else had this problem with the older model of the FKs? Should I buy the breaks of the new FKS since they might be stronger? More parkish bindings so probably better breaks? Or will they fit?
This is a big issue for me and its insanely annoying so hit me up with some solutions !

this happens to all bindings when releasing after landing switch. Just find some replacement brakes if you can.
there's a certain point where it neither looks good nor functions properly...that's when you know you look steezy

Even worse, do not fart in a one-piece. It will slowly make its way up to the top then come out the neck and gas you in the face. Last but not least, do not fart in a gondola. Even a hooded chair is pretty bad, but a gondola... damn that can be unpleasant.
sooo theres nothing to do about it? Always will have bent breaks?

cman really now. Can the new FK breaks go into the old ones?
PEACE LOVE ON3P
Yes and no. The baseplate will fit on an old fks, but you cannot just purchase the new base assembly. You can get new brakes, but not the base and brake.
its time for some new binding technology. Its fucking stupid they companies still make park bindings with brakes that fuck up when you fall goin switch.
maybe have them go out to the side? like you clip into your bindings and they go up vertically next to your boot. then when you crash they do down. and so that they dont snap in half they have some kind of spring action or something. just an idea
Or you could just stop sucking. Isn't that a novel idea?

Sorry, being able to support myself and my skiing is a problem?
You have to realize the gravity of what you are requesting. To change ski brakes would require a complete redesign of bindings in general. It will happen, but not soon. Brakes are cheap, they break when you bend them the wrong way. Stop falling switch and your brakes will stop breaking. They are inexpensive to replace.
Also bear in mind that the fks turntable has been around for something like 25 years. Its an old design.
its spelled BRAKES.

Youre telling me that the solution to this would be to stop trying tricks where you land switch? Or you just expect me to land everything first shot. id like to progress but whenever my bindings brake, i have to find new brakes and unscrew the heel piece which isnt too good for the ski.
i know that binding companies dont really give a shit about fixing their brakes any time soon because in their minds freestyle skiing is still too small. it was just an idea.
and theyve made tons of changes since then. They can definitely modify how the brakes work on them.
The heel on the turntable has undergone virtually NO CHANGE, up until last year, where they made the brake easily replaceable.
so instead of going around their problem of having shitty brakes, they should just fix the way they work. fks bindings are sick but just because theyve been doing the same thing for years doesnt mean its the best way.
I understand what you are saying. Such a small percentage of the market actually skis switch, its not cost effective to do a complete redesign
sweet. so lets just agree to agree or whatever then.
