No. There is no true backflip in a rodeo and there is no true frontflip in a misty. A rodeo is a spin with a backwards inversion, and a misty is a spin with a forwards inversion. Neither have any kind of true backflip/frontflip in them.
As for throwing rodeos, I agree it is kinda confusing. On the tramp (since you have no speed), for some reason it feels like I throw them forwards, but on snow you drop a shoulder and spin over that, kinda similar to a cork. Good luck and commit if you try one!
