GoPro Concerns?

Looking to get a gopro but i had some concerns before i bought one.

First off, if i get into a wreck thats moderately bad.(ie. tumbling or whatnot) will this camera be intact still and be able to function afterwards?

Also, my second thing is because this has no display picture, how exactly do you know what you are filming when you go and use a 3rd party feature such as ski pole filming or whatnot? I understand you point it at what you want to film but how wide is the filming and such?

ive taken some bad falls with the cam and its held up well. id be more worried about the mount ripping off and losing the camera then breaking the cam.

also if you shoot in 720p at 60 fps then the field of view is super wide. maybe about 160 degrees? its super sick and you can just point the cam at the person and most of the time it will come out just fine.

My GoPro Camera's have taken countless beatings and still work great. The housing around the camera will be the first of anything to go if you take a spill.

After playing around with the camera for the first couple of times, you get a sense of the angle your seeing. The fish-eye lense gives you a pretty big spectrum. If your looking to use it for skiing, id defiantly consider getting the chest mount harness and the pole (purchase at eyeofmine.com)

i was once doing a tiny 180 and caught an edge on the revert and the go pro ripped off my helmet.
I would recommend super glueing the mount on to your helmet, Its never fallen off since.

its not that hard to get some decent shots from a go pro. use a pole fyi ive found my best results come from useing a pole of somesort

Ok first day i used mine it ripped off my helmet when i hit it on a rail and it went tumbling for like 30 feet before coming to a stop and it worked fine after so i think u will be good just make sure that when u put a mount on the surface which ur sticking it on to is room temp and let it settle over night or something.
