I have horrible ankles, i actually grew an extra bone in them so my alignment is way off. Long story short I got dalbello kryptons or something brand new and my ankles are still fucked, even with custom footbeds, Next year I'll be getting new boots, and this spring I'll be getting 2 ankle surgeries on both ankles(I'm hoping), what boots are good/do you ride. I'm looking for light boots, but I ski east coast so I really need warm boots. shin and toe bang is a no-no, so I"m guessing full tilts? just lemme know. thanks. +k
i had really bad ankle problems too. i have huge ankles due to injuries and such. i tried spks, and nordica double sixes and they were hell skiing in. they fit and everything on the foot but ankles were terrible. i ended up trying a pair of old technica vecto 6s or somthing. ankle pockets are sooo much better on my ankles. if you get the chance try on some technicas even tho they arent the trendy hipster boot. just from my experiences with my ankles they work really nice
If you have ankle issues do not get a 3-piece boot (Dalbello Cabrios, FTs, Ace of Spades etc)as it is almost impossible to properly perform shell work in the ankle area because of the middle cable attachment. There is just too much going on in that region to do shell work. Find a traditional 2-piece overlap boot that will allow a boot-fitter to more easily adjust the shell in that area.
