2011 Kung Fujas
First time out on my 179's and my skin caps came off the tips of my skis. I lost them and now there are holes where the caps should be. Has this happened to anyone else?
Ehh, big deal. Put something sweet in its place. Like a bolt, or a bottle opener, or a buttplug.
Saw this reply and couldn't stop laughing, hahaha!
How did you find the 179 Kung Fujas by the way? Am thinking of picking my pair up today, but still juggling between Blends and those.
Haha thanks. put two bolts on the end!
I got em from a local ski shop with griffin markers bindings. They are rad skis, i def recommend getting a pair. best skis ive ever owned
i have the 2010 kung fujas and they are great. they're a really fun ski. but no, my little skin hole things haven't come out yet.
That's because you don't have skin attachment holes. You have rivets.
Hahaha, Karma came back to bite me on the ass - first run of the day, got to the chair, looked down and was missing a plug. 2nd run, was missing two plugs and by the end of the day I was down to missing three.....now I have to buy 3 buttplugs to replace them ;-)
Seriously though, loved the skis - very forgiving which is good for me!
Just so you know, I have contacted K2 about this - hopefully they will send some spares in the post (proper plugs, not butt plugs).
Loved the skis too - was icey as hell last weekend so didn't get to use them on anything soft, but they held the hardpack pretty well. So stoked, I just want some fresh deep snow to play in now!
I picked up some 189s and mounted them with Dukes. I plan on skiing them today.
It doesn't matter if you're a King or a lowly street sweeper, sooner or later you'll dance with the Reaper.
happened to my hellbent never put in rivets and rode them nothing bad happened
If you aint from montana your fake
Yeah, the guy in the shop is riding Hellbents and said the same thing! Am just going to leave them empty for the time being as am sure they are well sealed to protect the core of the skis.
Just so you all know, had a couple of K2 reps contact me. The first (typically French) just said no, nothing they can do, but the second, who was also French (but helpful) advised me to go back to the store I got them from. If they could sort it out, great, but if not he would see what he could do.
The store have said they have had this problem with all the K2's this year (well, all the ones with the cutouts) and advised me to pop back in the new year when they will have some more in stock. Really not important, but with all product development, feedback is good and will hopefully lead to improvements for the 2012 line :)
