Just so you all know, had a couple of K2 reps contact me. The first (typically French) just said no, nothing they can do, but the second, who was also French (but helpful) advised me to go back to the store I got them from. If they could sort it out, great, but if not he would see what he could do.
The store have said they have had this problem with all the K2's this year (well, all the ones with the cutouts) and advised me to pop back in the new year when they will have some more in stock. Really not important, but with all product development, feedback is good and will hopefully lead to improvements for the 2012 line :)
