Well, Red Lodge is down there, but Ive never skied it, so I couldn't tell you much about it. Other than that, Bridger Bowl and Big Sky would probably be your best bets, but they are over by Bozeman, which is something like a 2-3 hour drive from Billings. Hope this helps
^^ Billings isn't that bad if you aren't a Bozeman snob. They have quite a bit of snow on the ground now so I bet you could find decent urban. Red Lodge is about an hour away and can be fun. They have some rails and jumps in the park by mid-season that are decent by montana standards. There is a bunch of steepish tree skiing and such when it snows, and, unlike the bozeman resorts, you can ski powder all day on a pow day -- not just until ten. NEver done any backcountry in the area, but the beartooths are right there so it can't be that bad.
Thanks for all the info. Billings isn't my first choice but it's for work so there's not much I can do about it. I have ridden Cooke City, Big Sky area, and once near Red Lodge in the summer. I think the whole state is sick and like someone pointed out, there's always meth! I appreciate all the help guys, thanks.
You are dumb Big Sky never gets snow and the wait line for the lift is easily over 20min on a pow day and everyone who skis there is an asshole.
there are much better things to do with your life than spend it ruining others. -wh@t
Skiing is an art form, an escape from all things bad, skiing is perfect, skiing is my obsession.
Love is the amazing shivers you get when you're silently slipping through trees on a powder day, that overwhelming feeling of contentment where your heart beats a little faster and louder. That unmistakable grin of happiness that you can't shake off. It's unconditional, it's unbeatable, it's compassion and it's adventure.
I live in Bozeman, just was trying to point out that Billings isnt bad at all if you don't want it to be. And yes, it seems that there is a "snobbish" attitude in Bozeman about "non-mountain towns", not saying you have it BCshredder, just that it seems like a bit of a prevalent attitude in town is all.
all this hate on my home town is kinda lame. sure there isnt much to do in billings and the skiing isnt the best but red lodge can be really fun and sometimes it gets huge dumps. and billings is a decent town to live in and i enjoyed growing up there. besideds we just got done with a pretty epic urban trip to billings so ya quite hatting.
