i would like to let any of you know that if you missed the sasquatch festival(at the Gorge in WA), or decided against going, you're worst fears are confirmed - it was fucking amazing. the weather could have been much better, but literally every show we went to see was extremely good. The new pornographers showed that even though they are an allstar band (this was their only appearance of the year), they are very good stage performers. Built to Spill showed me the light and jammed in their own way (non typically good as far as jamming goes). Not to mention that despite thier technical difficulties they still played their instruments better than 95% of live acts with fully functional equipment. The Shins were extremely good, despite rumours of them not being particularly strong performers. And of course it was the Postal Service that owned the show - very very cool to see, and good god the girl is sexy as hell, i'd marry the bitch right now. The vibe at this point was so good that we left a few songs into the roots set (who i used to be a huge fan of). So i can't really comment on them or theivery corporation (who i like).

meh, there wasn't enough hip hop there for me to go. I've seen the Roots at the gorge once already, and all of those other bands dont interest me whatsoever.
Nah, man, any concert at the Gorge is fun as hell! What time did the show end and what did you do afterwards?

first off i don't think the roots should have played, it didn't fit at all.
the show started at like 11 i think, but none of the bands that were really pumped about started until at least 2:30. so we just sat outside and drank bud light at the back of my car. lesbo cops showed up and told us that drinking was not allowed in the parking lot, they then said we could drink as much as we want if its not out of a beer bottle. then some drunk guy ran by and gave us a whole bottle of jack because he said he didn't like it. then we went inside and stayed until the roots and watched a little and left (early) at 10:30. we drove all the way to lake chelan where my chick roommates were renting a house for college weekend. but when we got there they had gotten in tons of trouble for having a party. the cops showed up and phoned up the manager of the property, who then discovered that they had 12 people in a 6 person limit property. so they couldn't let us stay with them. long story short we got home as the sun was coming up. it was a ton of fun.

^festival is pushing it. i'd say convention - for the sasquatches to discuss and debate their pr objectives.
