Switch in powder

aright guys so i can ride switch perfectly fine on packed snow, but i have a really hard time doing it in powder. i find that the fronts of my skis always seem to sort of catch in the snow, if that makes any sense...any tips on riding switch in powder? i appreciate it

this is what i do:

wide stance
lean forward( not too much)
when turning left look over left shoulder and put pressure on left foot while sliding your left foot behind you( again not too much). and lean right.
same thing with your right turns

just scissor your stance like on hard pact when turning

lean forward tons of pressure on the front of your boots

dont let too much weight fall back

and when landing switch in pow its all about leaning a ton forward

alright so i have hellbents so i know i have no excuse, but when i lean way forward it seems almost out of control, like you cant tturn. and the tips (the actual front, so when switch the part of the ski facing uphill) seem to almost catch, or not allow me to turn. any thoughts? sorry haha

hmmmm.... keep you knees bent, and dont lean forward a whole bunch. just enough it keep your back tips above the snow. and when you go to move your ski for a turn use the shoulder( right ski right shoulder) and mimic the skis movment with your shoulder, and always be looking downhill. hope that helps.

go for it dude. but I am i in no way "pro" at switch pow skiing. i have just learned this from my experiences. If my advice doesn't work for you id ask a pro on this NS

you have to stay more centered, especially with these heavily rockered skis, if you lean far forward you will be putting all the weight on the rockered section of the ski - imagine trying to turn while going forwards just riding on your tails.  As for the catching tips, I've never experienced it but you should probably go a bit faster or finda steeper slope.  Just practice as much as you can and you're confidence and ability with rise exponentially.

I did 2 180's off of cliffs last weekend. I stomped one of them and fell on the other...but that's because I landed on a tree.

when you're skiing switch if you want to make a right turn (as if you're looking down the hill) look over your right shoulder and kick your right leg downhill. so basically look over your downhill shoulder.
to emphasize this when you're learning point with your downhill hand in the direction of motion as you turn. this gets your shoulders turned to initiate the turn
