Searched, and didn't find anything due to the new searchbar being a piece of shit. This is nuts, the guy's so lucky to not have been hospitalized. Yes, I know it's a snowboarder, but it's none the less crazy.

This happened at Edelweiss valley, outside of Ottawa. I would have shit my pants too. That's why you don't duck ropes into a closed park, kids.

Seriously though that is fucking nuts.  A kid died at Beaver Creek a long time ago. kind of similar deal. He came flying over a knoll listening to tunes.  He didn't hear or see the cat and slammed into it.  There was another tragic deal where a girl ski racer from Steamboat hit a snowmobile at Vail.  After that happened all resorts clamped down on how and when snowmobiles and snowcats could be used.   

Resorts are so hyper sensitive to the threat of this happening.  When they are grooming their parks, they close off the whole park.  They usually do it at night.  About the only way I could see this happening is if the dude ducked the rope or he was working for the ski area as mountain staff and was coming down after patrol sweep. 

He is so lucky to be alive.

Seriously?  You can see the tracks where he gets back up and heads down through the groomer tracks.  The only way that could happen is if the groomer left the landing hill partially finished like that.  You can also hear guys yelling stop in the back ground when he is about to hit it.  If that's fake, that guy has a future in Hollywood.

but if you look carefully, the guy in the cat doesn't even look back when the guy jumped over him.... second, the cat is going way too fast when going up.

Yeah, I noticed that too like the second I watched the video. I was wondering why the hell the driver didn't stop, because I know I would have. As posted earlier, either way fake or real, it's crazy. The editing is sick or that was nuts as is.

Another way its fake i think is when the snowboarder comes in from the corner, theres another guy following him and you can see him almost dissapear, but than the footage skips and hes gone. almost at the same time, the cat skips a bit uphil. the footage was spliced but a bit got missed i think.

I have ridden a lot in cats and it doesn't surprise me that the cat driver in this vid didn't notice the guy.  Most of the time they were watching their mirrors and looking down to get an idea of where the skids are.  Most of them have windshields that go almost down to the driver's feet so they can see exactly what the blade is doing.  They also have really kick ass sound systems. 

I could easily see why the guy in the vid would try to call this a fake.  It's on You Tube, he probably works for Edelweiss Valley and doesn't want to get fired.  If there was a video out there of me doing something that stupid (and there are, unfortunately), I would probably try to prove that it was a fake too.

yah but you would think that if the groomer was going up the jump they would have closed it first. its either the mtns fault for not closing the jump or the snowboarders fault for hitting a closed jump
