Drugs.... cool vs. not cool

I see a lot of people giving up on rationality. Not saying experimenting is stupid but whats the consensus on using drugs in peoples every day lives.

Please Define Drugs!

Lipitor? = not cool

Viagra? = Cool for old men and their wives

MDMA = Cool for partying

Crystal Meth = Really NOT cool, it eats your body and mind and scars the happiness receptors, so recovered addicts can never feel happy again. They have to live with that.

Weed = Cool, worlds oldest medicine, but is powerful and genetically complicated - Can induce psychosis and cause motivation issues

Mushrooms = Cool, like communing with the alien life force of the universe.

Cocaine =  Meh, its just ok, only to stay wake at a good party, but never delivers the high, U always want more, and its $ and its cut with vitamin B , etc

Booze = Cool and Not cool - its engrained in 5000 years of genetics (european bloodlines) and 500 generations of alcholic genes in our bodies (hence the huge liver) - and our culture is built right on top of alchohol - The bars, the social aspect of it make it inescapable, and it can be fun.

But it does brain damage.

and Stupid Drunk Accidents damage.

SO

PLEASE DEFINE WHICH DRUG YOU ARE REFERRING TO,  BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT!!

everyone i know who does a lot of drugs are fucking losers who will never amount to anything in normal society, at least not while they're still doing them regulary. Im not trying to be douche, just saying what i've noticed.  .

Most of my friends are always asking me how i could afford most of my ski gear. Simple i didnt buy an 1/8 every other day. Sure this past year i spent the most money than any other time. I got a little in some other stuff it was fun an all but seeing some people literally throw there lifes away bothers me. At the same time those kids werent going anywhere or had any ambition. Its not the drug(to a certain extent) its the person and who they choose to deal with stuff. Some people are fine and others simply cant handle it.

i dont know if you will remember this. but at cecil's house we smoked and something was so funny happened in the kitchen but i have no idea what it was.


ANYWAYS. drugs are whatever. i don't advocate them but i'm not against them either. they are really different for everyone because everyone reacts differently. i know that when i get into drugs other parts of my life start slacking. alcohol/weed isn't TOO bad but if i start using them very very regularly a lot of shit in my life begins to change and its not good.
i love a drug every now and then for some fun, but it should stop there.

Drugs are not "cool" doing drugs is not "cool." Sure, drugs are fun; I like smoking weed, drinking, and tripping. That doesn't make me cool or uncool. After reading some of the posts I've seen people saying, "Oh, weed isn't cool because people sit around all day and smoke weed" or people saying, "Weed is cool because it makes boring things interesting and I can function while high." Neither of those instances make weed cool or uncool, it's about the person smoking being cool or uncool. In both of those situations you can remove the drug and just classify the person.

There's nothing wrong with doing drugs; however, if your drug use becomes too much of a habit and takes precedence over other things, then it becomes a problem.

So what I like to drop a few tabs of acid or eat an 8th of shrooms every now and again? So what if I like to smoke weed and play music? So what if I drink on the weekends? It doesn't fucking matter because I don't define my life by drug use. I'm not gonna say that drug use hasn't changed me. I think that I've had a few trips that have definitely changed me for the better and I have changed since I started smoking weed. The thing is I probably would have changed without the drugs. Everything we do and everything we interact with changes us and builds us as people. Our personalities are so complicated that we can't look at one singular event and say that this is the reason for the way I think. We can look at singular events and see how much they influenced our personalities though. But now I've kinda gone off topic.

 This is an interesting point. My first reaction was to think "whats better, a happy drug user or a happy success? well a happy success obviously"  I think in the long run, drugs have a tendency to make people unhappy, but hypothetically, as long as they are both happy, one is not better than the other.

vicodin is really cool because you dont feel paint, like at all, i would never pursue it, but weed is great, and alcohol, not my thing but its still ok. all other drugs like X, meth, coke, hallucinogens, they are all fucked

My opinion, trying pot, boose, and mushrooms is that its okay in moderation. I can smoke and then go off and go to the gym, lift and run for three hours. Same with skiing, smoke and ski the rest of the day. When I tried mushrooms, I felt like it cleaned my slate, and refreshed me, it was incredibly therapeutic. Alcohol is just such a social catalyst. All I see positives and negatives and it just depends how you treat them. I've seen people taken over by weed, and other drugs, its horrible as long as you dont let drugs take over your life.

I didn't brag about my use/knowledge, I just said that I have a carefully informed opinion on the subject. I am foolish enough to have done drugs, but I am smart enough to ask as many questions as I can.

Most of the knowledge I have is against drugs to be honest with you, so I was just opening the floor up to anyone that wanted a piece of my mind.

How am I arrogant? The only thing I made a claim about is the fact that I know more than your average spunyon.

What bullshit did I claim?

It seems that I made you mad about something so why don't you actually tell me whats wrong? (you aren't allowed to use forms of the word fuck that you made up)

I smoke pot cause it makes me cool. just the other day i was at a restaurant with my friends and they were all like "so we about to go get twisted..." and i was like "FUCK YEA dude lets go.." and when i was trying to pay on my way out the guy working at the counter was all like "nah we straight, youre one cool motherfucker.." pretty chill night.

TLDR
drugs make you cooler. so buy drugs and do them.

I am not trying hard to argue with you, I just think its hypocritical to say it is lame to brag, then go on to boast about your knowledge on the subject.
That is all.
Bottom line, the difference between "cool" and "uncool" drugs is whether or not the user is conscious of what they are doing and the after-effects

for myself drugs are really beat. been sober for almost 13 months. i know most of you are talking about a completely different scene but i threw everything i loved/lived for away over them and now over a year later am barely starting to get back on my feet.

i guess everyone has to find out for themselves if socially using/drinking is there thing. some people its just not possible.
