Help me with a persuasive speech please

Here's the deal
I have to do a 5 min persuasive speech...now before you think that i shouldnt do it on skiing and the teacher and class will be bored etc etc, understand that ive done like 6 speeches already and none have been about skiing except for 1 that was like a minute, and in that one i only mentioned skiing and didnt even really talk about it.
so anyway, i have 2 subject ideas im brainstorming right now, and no ideas for the main points. subject ideas i have:
- why the class should ski
- why skiing is equally as awesome as snowboarding
if you could think of 3 main points for one of those--great. if anyone could give me a different speech idea and 3 main points, also great.
i will give 10 karma and a thank you.
i'll also send some stickers to the best answer.

Not to be a dick, but those two topic ideas are pretty boring. Perhaps you could think of a different topic that deals with skiing (i.e. halpipe skiing in the Olympics).
Just my 2 cents, but those topics are kind of amateur and played out.

word, problem is, nobody in my class really skis at all. thats why i felt like the broader the better. because if they dont really even care about skiing much in the first place, why would they care about olympic halfpipe skiing?

well thats just pish posh, the teacher can't have you give a persuasive speech and then regulate what topics they deem appropriate, give a speech on euthanasia and tell them to suck a fat one... they cannot punish you for picking a topic you are passionate about

we're supposed to choose a topic that isnt tired (abortion, going to war, etc). those are the rules

If you want to write a persuasive speech about skiing there are going to have to be some guidelines.
First off, your telling someone who may not even know what a ski is other then a fact of something you strap into your feet and go on snow with. You need to cater those so called "gaypers"
For the argue-mental point of why skiing is better than snowboard?
Bring up the fact that in the beginning of snowboarding alot of the time you end up sitting on your butt. And messing up your wrists. And that the fact that skiing is progressing farther and faster into the future than snowboarding. In some situations you can find yourself more in control in skiing than boarding (ie cat tracks) finally, the tricks don't all look the same on skis. You can actually differentiate from a mute to a truck driver.
And why someone would want to get into skiing?
State the fact that during the winter months of the year are gloomy and sometimes have a negative effect on people and get depressed because of it. But take a look at a skier, its the most momentous time of the year! this the time when they get to enjoy natures finest points. Weither your into skiing because you enjoy the adrenaline rush from the park. The awesome feel of pow on your skis. Or if your a skier to absorb in the scene of being on a mountain. Skiing personifies the best of the winter. Not as being something as a fun past time but a lifestyle that can bring happiness to anyone young or old.
