I am going skiing friday and I need to somewhat dull the underfoot of my new skis. The factory-sharp edges I am fearing will catch onto boxes and make me eat shit. I also have a file and I can't really remember what the proper way is to dull edges.
yeah I was wondering the same thing. Just got my new skis mounted and I might go skiing tomorrow and hit boxes and I don't want to catch an edge and die
take a file, file at a rounded motion, then take a gummy stone and slide it where u filed ur edges on, it will smooth out any rough spots from the file, if u do not have gummy stone, cork will work just not as good
I usually do like 2-3 passes with a file underfoot, then usea gummy stone to smooth it out, or if i forget i just rub the ski on a rail, that works too.
Another thing I have heard of is changing the base bevel to 2 degrees, so you have a decently sharp edge and it doesn't catch as much...Idk if it really works but its just something I've heard
