What dont you like about Aesop? His rhymes are very smooth and they are very original. It all flows so nicely. He always gets his point across in his songs, but often he uses metaphors and makes you think about what it is he's trying to say. I wish i could write rhymes like he can.

I agree with SKItheBURG, i dont like Aesop rock but for different reasons...
I think his rhymes and beats are some of the best but his voice just sounds like shit. It takes all the good out of his songs...

yeah, his voice is just horrible.
i like a lot of different people, but nas and kanye are probly my favorites. i generally don't like the underground stuff very much, but sometimes its good. i'd say mixtapes are where its at for good hip hop.

oh my fucking god, his voice and his flow are the fucking dope ass shit, and that's coming from someone who generally could give half a shit about any lyrics/vocals in 99% of the music out there. like schwags said, he sounds totally different from anyone else, his lyrics are off the hook, and his rhyme schemes stray completely off the traditional track - that's probably why you don't like him that much.

''the greatest pac-man victory in history'' has been my favorite song since about the 13th time i listened to it and finally figured out that the second verse is only words that begin with the letters L,S,D, over and over.

and another reason he's the shit is because i can listen to most hiphop cd's and memorize the lyrics after about 20 times, but i've listened to all of aesops cd's well over 100 times and still can barely flow a lot of his lines. and his flow doesn't detoriorate a bit live like so many other mc's either.

if you dont like aesop.. then pop music has trained your ears way too much... I could see how people dont like him, but you gotta respect that 1 of his songs, have more meaning then alot of other artists full album.

i think that he is a very talented lyricist (among the best that have ever existed), but i'm not such a fan of the musical aspect (beats, background) of his music - which as long as its music and not spoken word, i consider to be an important part. i haven't thouroughly listened to all of his music and i don't know whether he pioneered this, but i think that the underground scene was saturated with 'depressing' beats a long time ago. i'm not asking for 'happy' music, but i'd like to see him move in a different production direction.

^listen to bazooka tooth (if you haven't already). the beats on that cd are quite different than most of the beats on his older cds. i think that 'depressing' sound you're referring to ties in to a lot of the instrumental sounds he has in his older beats, and bazooka tooth's beats are a lot more.....umm.....''undepressing''?

Aesope rock has a new CD out I wanna buy it but Im scared the clips of it didnt sound that good. But really I love aesop rock becasue he is different. If u dont like him listen to hiim a little more and u get sucked in. His voice is hard to stand at first but when you get used to it its the shit...

he is what got me into underground hip-hop and out of metal and hard rock even though I am still in love with the 80's hair bands>>>>>>>MOTLEY CRUE

^no aesop is so original his beats are so sweet but i guess u just like little john beats.....its tight w/ the stuff in the songs like in flashflood where the guys sleep walks and kills some people it is scary. my favorite song is daylight or nightlight. and my fav line is off of labor days 'i got smoke in my iris but i painted a sunny day on the inside of my eyelids' check out his life clip on defjux.net its sweet

I really enjoy aesop and I think his live shit sounds even better than his studio tracks. Bazooka tooth was very weak though, and everyone knows this. He is truly an artist.
