i definitely prefer weezy over half the bland shit most people tend to list on here. the standard list tends to be about 10 different bland artists. usually about 75% of the actual good stuff is missing.
never been a fan of him. its not even his voice, its just when you actually listen to his lyrics you wonder how the hell he got famous. mind you with most rap the lyrics are terrible so why should he be any different
I liked the whole "I Am Not A Human" EP, actually.
Also, I don't how new this is to everyone, but I just saw on some blog that the studio version of "30 Minutes To New Orleans" just dropped. I know people were pumped on it when it was in that Lil Wayne documentary. Anyway, it's soo sick.
so groups like the backstreet boys and lfo are "good" groups because they have good voices? no they're fucking terrible. their lyrics are mind-numbingly retarded. wayne does have a unique voice, but what he puts together is incredible.
idc what anyone says, lil wayne destroys any other rapper in the game IMO. note, i said in my opinion, so don't start to hate. his lyrics are insane if you actually listen to them and understand them which i guarantee 90% of people dont understand.
One of the only times i hate Ns is when it comes to lil wayne. Glad to see some of you do actually enjoy him. I hate when people quote his shit music like Lollipop and say "how can he be famous". All artist have shitty music GET OVER IT. Look at Eminems Relapse album the whole thing was about his fantasies of killing people and drinking blood and fucking miley cyrus. It was awful. Now im not saying Eminem is bad because recovery was sick but all artist have shitty music
i feel this is how most people operate. you can't here 20 "underground" artists and know what's up with hip-hop. there are literally 1000s and 1000s of artists, many of which you have inevitably never heard of. the point is that you need to explore before you can make vast generalizations about the whole genre. you may claim lil wayne sucks but based on the extent of your knowledge, you don't even know enough of the genre to make a realistic comparison. believe it or not something exists beyond big l's 98 freestyle as well, which seems to be the go-to "knowledgeable listener's" claim these days.
I couldn't agree more, mostly with that I don't know most of the current underground rappers, I never claimed too either. It's just that right now everyone who claims to love hip-hop will always mention Eminem first, and not any of his songs from when he actually was good, but just songs off of Relapse and that album was whack. Can I assume that you think my top 3 would be like Biggie, Pac, and Em? Cause it most definitely isn't
that's completely what i would assume on NS. as if those three names are supposed to grant you some sort of credibility. if you really want to be credible you might mention big l or wu-tang. never in my life have i heard the following mentioned: showbiz & a.g., kool keith, organized konfusion, large professor, kool g rap, etc to name about 4 of significance. and guess what guys, you've never heard these in ski movies before so i hope you can find them!
