Okay, if your banned for good from a mod you can just make another account.

I think the mods should just ban there IP address and not let them get on ever again from that computer.
This would stop alllot of trolling.

Tell that to ~scott's roommates. When he got IP banned they all got banned to and could never get back.

I dont IP ban unless you're a huge asshole. If you get banned and make another account, it'll be worse for you, I promise.

Frankly, I've kinda stopped giving a shit - if you guys want to post terrible threads and antagonize other members, go for it. Make NS as shitty as you like it. For everyone else that kind of enjoys this little community here, us mods cant solve every problem. If you guys want the forums to be better, then make them better - I cant improve the quality of threads in NSG, thats something you have to all do together.

In the meantime, I'm busy enough deleting porn, racist content and trolls, but if you spark a decent discussion, I might partake. Been a while since NS had a good intelligent debate.

scott~ was a mega troll but ryanwar6, who was his roommate, was one of the most legit members on here. scott~ got ip banned and so did ryan and i think one other legit guy

In serious response to Ginko, There should be a easier and faster way to nominate people for a ban. Beside every post, there should be an "report post" link. It is a pain to search the user name, track all his posts and threads and send it to a mod that just disconnected. I make requisitions to mods. I just find them time consuming.

When you say you dont give a shit anymore, it kills the community a little more. I remember the good old days where shit talking was minimal and respect was important. We let the flammers and hate users troll the threads more and more, while loosening the forum rules. It is like government that is too scared to step in so they let the loop hole get wider and wider until the law becomes useless.

Its time for a crackdown. NS core members have been pushing for this. Make a new rule such as:
- All threads and posts created must be respectful towards members, mods and admins. All cheap attacks are subject to deletion and repeated attacks will lead to a ban. No more "fuck you" and "your the biggest idiot" liners.

If it is too hard to control the forum, well hire new mods...or forum police mods. I love NS, but I had enough.

Still, I have a great respect for mods. This site is huge and I know the bigger the site gets, the more attacks occur.

I back this 110%. I just wish there were more core, old school still around and participating. I feel like I've seen a few more old names pop up recently, but it seems there needs to be a real show of force by the older, more core, legit members. A troll stomping, noob slaying, idiot destroying task force of fury if you will, that will lead to a re-birth and take back of NS.

I agree with this as well, but the problem is that 9 times out of 10, one stupid post is followed by 5 or 10 more before some one with a shred of intelligence so much enters the thread. It's stupidity and ignorance breeding more of the same. If good/intelligent members both made an example of kids and led by example with their own posts, I feel the quality of the forums would increase greatly. It just seems that respect, knowledge of how NS is supposed to work and just common intelligence and decency are far outnumbered by sheer idiocy at this point in time. Hence the reason for my hypothetical NS task force as stated in my previous post.

You are correct. Anyone can be a douche, I know that I've made posts that were stupid and filled with hate for no reason. I think that often times the more experienced members do it out of sheer frustration and knowing that they aren't going to get an intelligent response to their comment so why bother putting in effort in the first place? I'm not saying that makes it right though.

While OG's can be just as stupid as noobs/trolls, many of them have been around long enough to more thoroughly understand the importance of the site and the positive impact that it can have. They also tend to have an appreciation for the "good 'ol days", no matter when that was for them, and remember when people used to have intelligent conversations, make good posts and have respect for one another.
