What's with all the hype for Ahmet in Eye Trip for?

Srsly All I heard was OMG his part was soo fucking sick. After I watched it I was like Meh.

The whole segment was just a repeat of rodeo, strait air, 360, 180. Even I am more than capable of those tricks. The only trick worth while was his S-rail shenanigans.

Don't even get me started on his style. His powder turns with his steezed out unzipped jacket reminded me of MFM so much that I almost threw up. Next step is cruzing powder in a wife beater.

I haven't seen it, but after reading the hype I had the image that it was more about his style he adds to simple tricks. And what I saw in that Firsthand with Wallisch in Finland, crazy urban trapezoid 50-50s, looked pretty awesome to me.

Lots of the stuff he did was super stylish. He had some ridiculous urban shots (like said 50-50). Overall he stepped up his game by 10000000000000000000x from last year.

I disagree with the OP, his segment was sick.

Go back and watch it again.

Not only were a lot of his tricks pretty technical, he was doing them on ridiculous features. Plus, his segment shows how hard he had to work to get every single trick - he took some of the most amazing slams I've seen and got back out there and landed every trick.

I don't think it was the most amazing segment of the movie, but it was deserving of opening segment and he definitely did deserve athlete of the year.

Yeah, when you say all he did was 3's remember that one of them came on a ridiculous urban drop, etc.

Probably the stupidest OP I have seen in awhile. Ahmet destroyed every feature his segment with more style than you could every imagine... Just cause you can do a shitty ass straight leg 360 off a side booter doesn't make you as good as Ahmet. Get serious.

I disagree, i saw Eye Trip on Friday, Ahmet's and Wiley's segments were the two that stood out the most to me...compared to past Ahmet segments, Eye Trip really exposed him as a very well rounded skier.  Delorme's pow skiing was really sick too.

I watched the movie two hours ago, so I am concluding with that you:

1. Are ignorant and dumb
2. Did not see and understand the lenghts and hights in that part
3. Try to drag his achievements down by saying you can do just as good.

When you start posting videos of you doing 10-15 meter urban jumps/drops, go on, hate as much as you want.

As of this point only seeing three of this years movies, EyeTrip, Revolver, and The Way I See It, Ahmet's EyeTrip and Sean P's TWISI segments stand out as my most favorite

Sean P killed it, but looking back he killed it even harder in "In Deep". Im guessing he was unlucky this year, with conditions, weather and etc.

So far I've seen Eye Trip, Revolver, Side by Side and The Way I See It and the segments that stands out the most is Even Sigstad(mostly tech urban, but also bc shots), Delorme in Eye Trip(nollie cork 7, what?) and Phil Casabon in Eye Trip(being Phil Casabon)

People might read my other thread and think I'm a hater, but this I wont stand for. Ahmets part was so FUCKING awesome I want watch it so many times i dream in it. And then can recreate new shots with the same exact style in my dreams so I can get MORE of him.

I haven't seen the segment but what I'm getting from it is that the "easy" tricks were really technical and his style must have been flowing a ton

a 360 aint easy if it s done on a 30 foot drop to flat.

I really don't think this kid is trolling. I really believe there is huge segment in the ski community now that can't comprehend why someone would think that Ahmet had the most standout segment this year or even in recent memory. Style will always be king over the actual definition of a trick; Ahmet just made everyone realize it again. We'll be referencing Ahmet's segment 5-10 years from now while we'll be forgetting about the Sun Valley double cork huckfest at the end.

There was 1 double in the movie from sunvalley and it was pretty sick. Tom held the grab to the very end so I would not say it was hucked either.

To OP Ahmet killed it so hard. Hands down the sickest 270 on to a handrail that I have ever seen along with many other bangers. Plus smashing his face on the one drop then going back and doing a rodeo over just shows the dedication he put in.

This is so wrong. Regardless of the fact that his tricks WERE legit, it isn't just the caliber of tricks that make a movie segment amazing. Creativity, style and the music of the part are what make movie parts worth watching. If all you saw were a bunch of doubles and a triple it would be impressive but not as much fun to watch. Ahmets segment was legit. done.
