a whole lot of internet interactions are horrific. the invention of facebook and internet chating are ruining our societies relationship creating skills.

Using the internet as an excuse for getting bullied is the pussiest, weakest excuse there is.

I agree with this comment, I guess that my comment dosent really fit in this thread at all. what i should have said is that internet interactions are removing the need to talk to someone face to face, which can be tough/intimidating. because it is so easey to talk to people online  kids between the ages 12-16 ish just use facebook and shit for human interaction. does any one else have a 13 year old sister that chats with her "boyfriend" constantly but when they see eachother they don't talk? thats what i was adressing.

um duh? but what if the parents don't have any grasp themselves of what is right and what is wrong? what if the kid has nobody to teach them right from wrong?


it's not like everyone has the same brain. it's not like everyone has the same experiences.
of course, normalcy seems super easy to achieve for most of us... but there will always be fucked up people... either due to genetics, life-experiences or no reason at all.

and you're right. kids are pretty fucking MALLEABLE (not maliable) until puberty, but if they are being taught to favor behaviors which are considered negative in society, then they are likely to continue those behaviors as an adult. if they have kids, they will likely pass those behaviors down to their children, creating an on-going cycle.

children LEARN from observation. it's called observational learning.. (who woulda thunk?!)
therefore, a child's peer group also influences their behavior. if a child makes friends who make bad decisions, they are likely to fall into the habit of making poor decisions as well.

there are so many aspects when it comes to the development of a human being's personality and behavior. you are a melting pot of all the people you know, and the people who are closest to you have a larger impact on who you are.

notes from a lecture in my psych101 class:

Observational Learning- Bandura conducted experiments using the bobo doll, created studies where adult male or female were abusing the bobo doll in a video and kids watched. Kids were then placed in a room with a bobo doll and their actions were almost identical to those of the adults in the video, they learned through observing. He discovered that maturity (age) had a lot to do with whether or not the kids accepted the violent behavior as okay. The younger the child, the more accepting of the behavior; the older the child, the less accepting

if a child is exposed to negative behavior at a young age.. they will inherit that behavior and see the behavior as acceptable, esp. if learned from someone they look up to.

my point is this: it's completely illogical to think that it's possible to stop bullying by teaching kids right from wrong.

Elgato is correct in saying that it's much wiser/more effective to teach coping techniques and the fact that life is not fair and if you want to live here you have to learn to deal with it, on top of teaching kids right from wrong.

An apparent murder suicide they said on the news today. Not sure if this has been brought up in the thread before though.

man this is really sad, kids this young shouldn't be going through stuff like this.

only faggots commit suicide. and i dont feel sorry for them. selfish. i only hope their parents etc. are O.K
