...that wants to completely give up on school, and become a ski bum?

Sorry if this is a super repost, but lately, I haven't seen the value in getting a super expensive degree and then making ridiculous amounts of money while only skiing a few weekends a year.  Why not put skiing first and money second, are we really that greedy?

you're not alone man, I just dropped a class I couldnt keep doing and it felt so good. makes me wanna drop the others... haha. but I have a feeling if I drop out of school and be a ski bum I won't ever want to go back.. hahaha

Without education you contribute nothing to society, meaning you are literally a waste of space and resources, and the planet would be better off without your existence. THAT is how it fucking works. Going through life without leaving anything behind is the biggest waste of all.

Not planning on moving to the US right away. Probaly staying in Sweden during winter (Know a rich guy I can live with) and I got a friend from the US that I can marry (he's a guy) so it's all good ;)

i understand it if you drop out of college, but dropping out of high school is a really shitty idea, i mean if you are a skier, i assume you can afford and education that many people can't get, its worth making it through just the basics at least.

I'm pretty sure you are thinking of Massachusetts.
Polygamy is illegal at a Federal level which holds even more weight than State Laws. (You're dealing with the FBI and the rest of the Department of Justice at that point)

You do understand that the only reason you are able to live off of your government is because there are still enough educated people that work and pay taxes. But You still don't get the fact I won't fall that low and that I will be able to get on my feet and "pay back" society. I am just saying I could say fuck everything, but I don't. I earn money and pay my taxes AS a ski bum. Society won't lose shit on me at all.

I've grown up with being told to live your dreams. For once I am a guy who plans on doing that, but by doing so I get flamed by a bunch of americans who don't really know a thing about my country and how our system works? Dude you have been skiing for like a year. Give it a few years before you choose a life around something you don't have a lot of experience in.

Now to all the 14 year olds in this thread saying they are going to ski bum be quiet.

You have just started high school, you don't necessarily know what you want out of life. Most of you probably haven't even had season with skiing over a 100+ days a year.

I myself am 14 years of age, I have traveled probably more than the most of you guys on this site. I have lived in different countries, lived with poor people, lived rich people and being poor sucks ass.

This will be my 6. season where i hope too get over 100+ days. I am not saying now that i want to be a ski bum but i love skiing, and don't really know if i could cope with not skiing everyday.

Word! Right now Skiing is what I wan't to do, but in my country I can always try again get an education. I can keep doing education over and over again.

At the end of febuary I have to turn in my "Education plan" Basicly what I wan't to do with my life. I am going to try skiing, if it fails which I doubt it will, I can always try something eles.

yeah true im not taking sides, chances are most of the people in this thread will realize eventually they will never ever regret higher education even if they still want to bum it. nothing wrong with bumming it but i bet it's a tough and lonely life. win-win situation? finish high school, and either go to school in the mountains or take some time off before or after college and ski bum it. see if it's something you could really do for so long

more power to you if you bum it, that's sick, but dont screw yourself over for the future

dont drop out. thats retarded. if you did then you will realize after a while that it wasnt worth it and all your friends are gone doing great things while your bummin around working a shit job and barely skiing because you cant afford your gear, pass, gas, and rent with your fail job. unless you work at a mountain...
