Burton actually makes some pretty sick high quality shit. I don't know how the whole "fuck burton they are corporate sellouts!" bullshit came about but its pretty ridiculous. Its the same people who buy a Ride and think they are getting behind a "core" company. Burton makes some of the sickest snowboard shit out there.

Most their boards run the same price as the comparable Ride, Rome, K2, Libtech, Option or Forum. Yeah they have a few top end models that are expensive, but a lot of the hate they get is totally unwarranted. I don't ride any personally, but I have demo'd a ton of their shit and have never heard anyone who actually rides em have anything but good words for em. The most hate they get are from kids on a Forum or Ride thinking they are "core" when they have never used any Burton shit and not realizing that Ride is just as much part of a corporation as Burton is.

Well I guess as far as most of the job boards these days they're comparable because they use cheap cores. I wasn't a fan of what they did to their bindings though. Old burton bindings used to be sick.

On a side note they do have a super return policy. I ripped the wires in one of those audex jackets a few years ago. They sent me the next years model for free to replace it. It was like an 800 dollar jacket too.

Def agree on their bindings being subpar till you get the near top of the line ones, My buddy had a pair of missions and that stupid plastic base plate would cause his front binding to shift like 15 degrees everytime he landed after spinning 5 or more. Ended up getting those pink ride bindings that are custom drilled to your stance... can't remember the name but they are sick.

I used to love the burton freestyles from 10 years ago. I bought a few pairs of those over the years. I thought they were a pretty solid binding. the new ones look cool but they just never held up and I fucking hate the highbacks. I don't want a massive highback so that I can't move. Never got into the cap straps either. I tried it out, but I just like the old way better.


I have a few pairs of the ride betas right now. Perfect binding for me. Strong but still flexy. It's all preference but I just don't think burton bindings are that good these days regardless.

everyone hating on burton in this thread is high on crack. if i could afford it i would buy an entire burton setup. board, boots, bindings, jacket, pants, fucking socks and underwear. EVERYTHING. the scrub hook bindings with the sharks on the highbacks and the burton love are so sick together... i dont really like burton as a company (since they pulled the factory out of vermont) but you really cant deny that theyre product is fucking sick. saying burton sucks is like sitting in a lambo and being like "this car is a piece of shit" its just not true.


that said im on last years capita midlife and flux bindings from 2 years ago.
