How important is physics?

I am taking physics this year this year to keep my options open and overall i'm a good student (80-90 in all my other classes, including pre-cal, chem, bio and english) but i am simply not enjoying physics, maybe its just this one unit though. I am often uninterested in class and find myself daydreaming about skiing or struggling to keep my eyes open. As a result, I retain little information and I'm not doing so great. I'm certain i will pass the course but I have a test tomorrow which i will be surprised if i get a 70 on.

What professions is this course important for? I know engineering is an obvious one but i am not interested in that. I am however, interested in medicine, pharmacy physiotherapy, for which i think physics is recommended if not necessary. Am i just being a pussy or can i afford to drop this class?

I do Geophysics at university. at UK unis you "major" from the offset so you have to be sure of what you want to do before you go... I love the physics and do well in it but I suck arse at the maths modules... pure mathemathics i just cannot do but as soon as it has a meaning and a purpose, like it has in physics, the maths is fine...whats that all about?!!

Physics is important btw.

well thats the thing, the reason why he crashed is beacause the coefficient of friction between the skis and the snow changed in between hits. it was hot and the snow got all slushy and shit. and that shit would be a pain to measure in between every single hit ahaha

You have to realize that, for most people (perhaps unlike yourself) reading three short paragraphs takes only a  moment. Apparently it was helpful to the thread creator as well.

I dono its touche. If your not a science major then you really don't need it, bit knowing alittle about an odd subject that doesn't apply to your major can set you apart in the job market.
