I personally think the posts these days are so stupid and nobody posts anything intelligent anymore. I think the mods keep banning the most interesting people who posted on newschoolers and all thats left these days are retards and socialists.

anyways not to single out the mods but i would just give them a little advice to stop banning the people who make this place interesting. Like really mods, your not helping yourselves.

A large part of the shift from the "old" NS to the NS now is the huge increase of members. It's not as intimate anymore.

Honestly the moderation as of late has been very good. I've wasted a significant amount of my life on this website, it really hasn't changed much, just more people and threads move faster. Look back 3, 5, 9 years in the archives and there were just as many stupid threads as there are now.

the quality of the moderation has done nothing but improved, though that's probably a side-effect of having that much more work to do.

back in the day, someone would post some epic story, everyone would have a laugh, it would go for pages, at some point "cool story hansel" would be said, and that would be that. Or there would be hilarious discussions about things such as lowering the water level in your toilet so your balls dont get wet.

These days however, if you post something funny, the first page is inb4 and cool story bro, and the second page becomes "this thread is now about _________" and it only goes downhill from there.


5 years ago we were still talking about the same stupid shit for the most part, but instead of trolling and posting the same thing over and over again, people discussed it. And people also put effort into alias, some had pictures, an entire backstory, and a personality. Not just a day old account with 3 posts, each of which is "lol trollin'"

quality of members has gone downhill. There used to be some who would fit in perfectly now who got chewed out by the rest.

I find myself in a conundrum...I feel that NS (mostly SG and NSG) is getting boring, maybe I'm just getting older, but the more boring it gets the more time I spend on NS. It perpetuates itself, I normally cure my boredom with NS but when your cure becomes the problem what do you do?
