and just to inform you, I have never had a knee injury, and am not looking at those huge expensive ones, just a one like this, that just is a band
like I said, it helps a ton with running pains, and I seem to sometimes get those skiing too,
what type of pain is it when you run??? like where is the pain located, cuz i think have a pretty similar problem that im currently fixing and i think i can help you out!
i wear knee braces cause i get running pains to and i get the same pains while skiing when i dont wear braces and when i do i dont get them so i would segest getting them dude, it helps so much
Don't use a brace. Hit the gym. A much better way to go about it.
Using a brace may actually increase the chance of injury as you are relying on the brace for support instead of your knee and surrounding muscles. Thats the general conclusion from various research.
Well as a runner I actually do have decently strong legs/core, and like I said before, it is not a huge thing that helps your knee a ton, its just a small one that actually only helps one tendon, which is the patellar tendon from moving side to side, which causes the pain, the brace just puts a small amount of pressure so that tendon does not move in those direction and get stressed, which could lead to more severe injuries down the road.
if your patellar tendon is moving side to side then you would probably want a brace that wraps your knee cap and keeps it in one position...i would get a brace like that and begin hitting the gym...just bc u run doesnt mean your legs are as strong as needed for skiing...its completely different
