check the bottom left of the homepage, you can change it to different things. like the classy simple look better kinda but whatever it really doesn't matter.

when you click on it it prompts you to type in your google account and i think it will save the image if you always log on with that account, probably just promoting that.

When you go to this menu you can pick the background from the gallery or upload your own picture. If you want it white, simply upload a plain white image.
