i just feel like crappy music is not anything new.

the 80s were full of godawful music.

the 70s had disco.

every decades popular trendy music for the most part blows. this isnt something thats sudden in 2010.

My point exactly. Whatever crappy rock bands people seem to like from those decades weren't mainstream music like Lil Wayne or Justin Beiber. Sorry, but Led Zeppelin isn't mainstream. It may have a huge following in the modern day, but every single shitty black female R&B singer is already more famous.

sidenote: Pink Floyd and Funkadelic are the only 2 good bands from the 70's /elitism

yeah these are definatly good examples of good music. but still, i wouldnt call it great, when i listen to my 60's 70's or 80's playlists on my ipod, after awhile not listening to them, i get so suprised at how great music used to be. i was just listening to the beach boy's yesterday, and for being the beach boy's its crazy how good it actually is compared to todays music. everyone used to have such an original sound. music definatly died starting in the 90's, the 80's were still awesome, there was so much new creative stuff coming out then. but music very quickly started sucking once the 90's came along.

maybe the quality stuff from this decade just needs time? like in 20 years i could see looking back and thinking some of the best songs from this generation were amazing. it definatly happened with rap, the oldest rap i can remember listening to is dr dre. dmx, biggie, snoop, and the rest of the stuff from around that time. i remember not liking it much back then (i was also a little kid) but now i find it so refreshing to hear that played rather than todays music. i think i can honestly say that 95% of todays music is just annoying sounds that do absolutely nothing to please me.

Well you have to hear that fucking shit. At work, people go to pandora and plug in some shitty pop music and I have to listen to the same shitty songs all day. Same with parties, people just play the same shitty music all night.
