even if they do rip out like on my old skis, you can fix em; my skis had torn out heelpiece, epoxied back into place
then it tore out again, got it helicoiled back into place
then tore it out again, got brass inserts, tore those out as well
then i said fuck those incapable shops, i dremeled out the hole so its mushroom shaped, mixed epoxy with steel wool (as mentioned) youst put the inserts back in and i was ready to got :)
been riding them all winter and theyre still holding up fine :)
but i think you'll be fine, taking em off once in a lifetime (of a ski) isnt gonna do that much damage...
but don't forget the woodglue, not so much for its adhesive strength, but because it works as a seal that prevents moist from going into your wood core....
