Coming through again, bloody brilliant (say it like Matthew).

From the 60 minutes interview I saw, it sounds like BP could've done a number of things to prevent this from even happening.  Like stopping drilling when they noticed pieces of the rubber gasket from the BOP coming up in the drill sludge or whatever it's called.

haha ya, If I was on that rig and someone brought me a bunch of rubber chunks in the drilling fluid I would shit my pants.

Its like assembling the space shuttle and then some guy coming up with a bucket of "Parts that didn't go anywhere". However this was probably a TO guy and a TO problem. They should have known to stop and make repairs.

theres some website that shows how big the oil spill would be if it was centered around your house, i though it was pretty cool, i'll try to find it

also fun fact: the amount of oil that has spilled out into the ocean is about the same amount as this country uses in one hour
