I wrote a paper it is okay, but here is some info.
Nazi propaganda against the Jews
Propaganda: information that
is spread for the purpose of promoting some cause. One of the most
powerful weapons Hitler could use against the Jewish people in Europe.
Hitler used propaganda to spread the idea of antisemitism. Antisemitism
is the hatred of Jews. He also blamed the Jews for "two great wounds
upon humanity: "Circumcision of the Body and Conscience of the Soul."
When Hitler rose to power he formed the Reich Ministry of Public
Enlightenment and Propaganda and put Joseph Goebbels in charge. The goal
of the Ministry was to broadcast the Nazi message through art, music,
theater, film, books, radio, educational materials, and the
press.
When Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union they told the German people
that that the Soviet Union was linked to "Jewry."
Nazi Germany
often used films to generate hate against the Jews quite a lot in World
War 2. Films such as The Eternal Jew showed how the Jews were a
inferior race consumed by sex and money. The Eternal Jew was
directed by Fritz Hippler and had an unlimited budget. Another movie was
also called The Internal Jew the difference was that it was made
by a British filmmaker and depicted the Jew in a good "light". The
German version took the idea of that film but put their "twist" on it.
Newspaper in Nazi Germany would print cartoons about how bad the Jew
were and what they did that was bad. Cartoons showed how the Jews were
fat and rich while everyone else was poor. They showed how big a Jew's
nose was. There were cartoons about how the Jew is a poisonous mushroom.
They also showed how a Jew was a wolf about to kill the German
civilian. After the invasion of Poland, the Nazi government
in-pressed on the German citizens that not only were the Jews an
inferior race they were also dangerous. Even during the Final Solution,
Nazis would make Jews write a post card saying that they were living in
good conditions and were being fed well before they died.
In June
1944 Nazi Germany allowed a International Red Cross team to inspect
Theresienstadt Ghetto Camp. The Camp went under a instant cleaning,
making it seem much better than it actually was. SS officials made a
film showing how nice the camp was. They even used some of the camps
residents. When the film was done most of the the "actors" were sent to
the Auschwitz-Birkenau killing center
German people said "Watch
your children 6-7 weeks before Passover… Everyone knows that just before
Passover Jews need the blood of a Christian child, maybe, to mix in
with their Matzoh." Nazis actually made people believe that a Jew would
steal your new born and use it for a ritual.
Newspapers were a
very effective use of propaganda Volkischer Beobachter (People's
Observer) was the Nazi's main newspaper. They showed Nazi idealogy
against Jews and many other Nazi enemies.
German children were
told this saying: "Just as one poisonous mushroom can poison a whole
family, one Jew can poison a whole town or a whole country!" That is
from a German children's book called The Poisonous Mushroom.
Even little kids were being taught about how bad the Jews were. One
little girl wrote this, "People are so bothered by the way we’re
treating the Jews. They can’t understand it, because they are God’s
creatures. But cockroaches are also God’s creatures, and we destroy
them." That quote shows how effective the Nazi government was at
spreading the word about how bad the Jews were.
The radio was
one of the biggest use of propaganda that Nazi Germany used. 70 percent
of the German citizens owned a radio, they were programed so that they
didn't pick up foreign signals. Nazi Germany even had people
broadcasting how bad the Jews were in the United States, through "Axis
Sally" Mildred Gillars.
Eventually Nazi Germany lost the war but
their use of propaganda was very effective and it was largely
responsible for the hatred of a whole religion.
