Is pay pal bad?

hey ns. i was wondering if you can scam someone by using pay pal? People have told me no but is it really true?

pay pal is one of the better services to use when dealing online. but sending/receiving money is only a small part of the transaction, and its still easy to get "scammed" other ways

Well... if I send you a pm that says "Hey... send me money and I will send you a pair of goggles."

and you decide to send me money by paypal

Then I decide not to send you goggles.

I'm correct in assuming that if you just randomly send someone money in a web forum (not using an insured service like ebay) they don't back you right?

i believe this is true, unless you file a claim with paypal within 30 days of sending the payment

western union is super legit

paypal is as good as it gets pretty much, you can file claims within 30 days and they generally resolve it. if you're smart about your transactions chances are you won't get scammed

yea. i've heard western union is really good and no im not planning on scamming any1. im planning on buying a pair of full tilts for $150 and only used 4 times

i have never encountered a problem with paypal. im pretty sure that online companies that use paypal have to apply and get checked out before they can use paypal. It is in these company's best interest to not rip people off. the most common way people get ripped is based on their own decisions of who they send money to.

make sure you check out the seller before you make this deal for the full tilts

Fuck dude, just read the buyer / seller protection thing. If you pay by credit card, especially american express, you're very well protected. As a seller, you can get screwed over a lot easier, so insist on shipping with tracking to a registered address and insuring the item in full and you should have your bases covered.

not the case actually, because there was nothing that proved anything was actually sold in the first place.  this is the case on ebay however

paypal always favors the buyer

with any large transaction ALWAYS get a tracking number and only shipped to address confirmed by paypal
