How to make a time lapse?

I am using vegas 7. how do you compress all of the photos into like 20 seconds

1. insert pics
2. make every pic 1-3 frames "long"

just import all pics like u do for video clips

then ajust there lenght depending on how long u want in between each clip

probably put each pic as 1 frame (1/30 second in a 30p timeline, 1/24 in 24p timeline, etc. do it to whatever footage you are using)

well could i take all of the photos and put the together like a video clip then compress them

what do you do if you have a 4 hour long video

just have it set to play like 20x faster?

^^ yes you might want to compress 4 hours to more than 20x speed. you just need to insert your footage then go and adjust your speed rate. not too bad. to give you an idea i filmed for almost an hour and then increased the rate to 50,000 and it was like 5-7 seconds

i have another problem, when i record in 1080 with the gopro i cant put it into vegas

well to be honest i work with final cut so im not to sure but try looking on youtube and google for some Q and A stuff because i am pretty sure you should be able to use your gopro.  i hope this helps to bump for help too. sorry i cant help too much man
