Canada's Joss Edit=Horrendous.

Canada's videography may have been good, but the entire 10min edit only consisted of TJ Schiller double flipping. Everything was TJ and they had all of 2sec of urban shots. Good to know the entire 4 or so days that it was raining there Canada sat on their asses while everyone else was shooting urban. Not to mention the Canadian folk music was boring as fuck.

Canada kept it original, funny, and with cosco in it you couldn't predict what was gonna happen next. That's why we took it, and that's why we earned it haha

I have watched the macarena shot like 25 times.  Also I'm probably the only person on NS who has watched ski videos from 5 different decades.  This edit brought back memories of videos that mesmerized me when I was a little kid.  I'm not going to go into a critique, but it was by far this most entertaining edit I saw.  Chug, I love you!  No homo!  TJ and Justin were awesome too.   Congrats to team Canada.

Canada won because their edit was different and original.  Every edit these days are compilations of hardcore afterbanging and acting as thug as possible.  Canada's edit showed the unhood side of freestyle skiing.  Which is enjoying yourself and having a good time with the people around you.

Not that their is anything wrong with afterbang.  Its feels awesome sometimes and can be fun.  But its too much when you take it to the point of considering yourself in a gang.

I thought Canada's edit was the best. It was a film contest not a ski contest the best film won. I thought America should have gotten third though right after Newschoolers, Norways edit was terrible. Chug doing the macarena at the end made the whole thing worth it.

They all make you want to ski, and frankly having fun while skiing is pretty much the easiest thing in the world to do. That's not what the contest is about, and if it was then I would enter JOSS next year. I'm good at having fun AND acting like a jackass. I would win.

thats why this was an edit contest. you dont have to have the gnarliest or most tricks. thats what the JOI is for and the Best Of. Canada's was like a short film documenting the event which in my opinion deserves the win. It was original and actually had some sick skiing if you watch it not just for the doubles

BUT, I don't think that America has any reason to complain about Canada winning due to their overall impression, because I'm pretty sure America got the place that they did because of the overall impression of their video.

Fully Disagree, that was unbelievable. Well done Mike Clarke & Darren Rayne. There are VERY few edits that are this well done and well put together, the music choice was unbelievable, not the average rap/dubstep/remixes/wayne ... they edited those clips so well to the music, that it made all the shots as well as the song stand out so much more just because how well they went together. I'm extremely impressed, I could watch that all day, Bravo.

I didnt say anything about the cinematography, i just didnt enjoy watching the edit and didnt find it entertaining. I have the utmost respect for these guys and what they do.. it just want my cup of tea.

Well, I would agree that the judging system seems pretty bad.  However, at the end of the day if you asked me which video I liked watching the most and will watch again then it was indeed Canada.  Yes, NS, Norway, America all had great edits, but I probably won't watch them more than a time or two again.  I think JD put it perfectly - a few years from now I won't really remember watching the NS or Norway edit, but I will remember watching Canada's.  I guess that is why they ended up getting the nod from Iberg.  It seems like people who actively make and produce films liked this one a lot.
