Glorious amounts of powder: booters, face shots, gnarly lines.....I like them in movies because, even when it's July, and things look too sunny to ever be fun again, you can at least have a pow day on the screen.
Creative and interesting tricks, creative setups especially urban, occasionally just pure steeze. Even though I would classify myself as a backcountry skier, the urban sections in movies are always my favourite.
there's a certain point where it neither looks good nor functions properly...that's when you know you look steezy - no_steeze
i personally like the insane stuff that you would never try but even after watching it you think you could totally hit that....also Andy Parry and Will Wesson, who make me want to ski soooo badly it almost hurts. warren miller as well, but only when its him not the company.

I think my perfect ski movie would be a mix between Forward, Session 1242 and Focused in all aspects. Hard to explain. I like editing that is relevant to the music/song choice: incorporating stops, cuts or lyrics into the editing. I prefer powerful/strong music, but not hard rock or metal. I like to see both balls to the walls skiing and more mellow stuff, but the hanger is stuff that makes you say WTF and rewind anyway.

when you can tell the skiers or boarders are stoked on life and skiing.
cause that gets me stoked on skiing. so basically its gotta be fun!
The moral justification of capitalism does not lie in the altruist claim that it represents the best way to achieve “the common good.” It is true that capitalism does—if that catch-phrase has any meaning—but this is merely a secondary consequence. The moral justification of capitalism lies in the fact that it is the only system consonant with man’s rational nature, that it protects man’s survival qua man, and that its ruling principle is: justice.
kinda sick of ski porn. It worked in 2002 when skiing was newer and we were like WTF every year at all the stuff going down. These days though by the time the movies come out, nothing is really new. We all know that dubs were done on Chad's and we see edits all year (JOSS!)
Tell us a story or give your movie a theme or something. I don't just mean like 15 second intro shots with some inspirational quote. There are plenty of things you could do to make a movie more interesting. If you went on a trip maybe show a little bit more about what you did there. If you found a creative jib maybe show a bit of how you set it up. I personally think a ski movie could have half as many ski shots and still be as good.
NO SLOW SONG, SLOW MOTION, PILLOW LINES. yeah it was awesome but now is so played.
Trees, Big Lines, and Urban, and how most movies now have a windells segment
I love skiing more than anything in the world. With out Skiing, Line skis, Minnesota, and Trollhaugen there is no way I would be where I am today. I love where I live, people hate it, but I wouldn't trade Minnesota for anything. Skiing and Minnesota have changed my life.
its a 1 hour edit of just purely everything skiing... the lifestyle the pow the trees the park the streets and lots and lots of tricks.... and u can watch it on a tv so its better than a comp =) lol especially if u hav like a 50 inch tv lol
