first thread maybe.

Well here is the story guys, I am thousands of miles away from my sweetheart and its nearly impossable to talk to her..Due to my work schedual and such, that alone sucks and now I guess she is being followed by one of her ex's. If anyone has kind words I could sure use them right now,thank you.

i think boot camp should be less basic training and more liam neeson/rambo esque skills that you will NEVER use on the battlefield but that will impress people back home when you kill them

Seriously though, that sucks bro, and I hope things turn out well for you. I thought a few hundred miles was bad last semester, but it sounds like you've got it way worse. If you're that into her and she's that into you it'll work out. If not, then she's not worth it and you've just gotta move on.

ahhh don't worry! and don't listen to all the clearly single guys who aren't getting laid on here. hah. i have two army wife friends, one recently married, and i have a friend who's bf is currently in afghanistan, and well if she cares you won't have to worry. and if she cheats, which she probably won't, i'm sure you won't be a pussy and do what's necessary. regardless. when my buddy went away, his fiancee had a bit of trouble never knowing when the phone calls would come, but they cope, and she has to understand that. it'll be ok!

I'm assuming you both are older, hopefully more mature as well. How long have you been together? Anyways, being 1,000 miles apart and trying to make a relationship work is incredibly difficult - my ex couldn't even handle 100. If you both have the right mindset and honestly want to be with each other, you will find a way. But if you BOTH don't give 110%, then it won't work at all. Being that far away and trying to maintain a relationship, let alone a stable and healthy one, is really unrealistic, especially with your current situation and how busy you seem to be, etc. I know it sucks and you may feel like you don't know what you would do without her in your life, but if you are meant to be together then in the end you will be. If not, you will learn a lot from this and grow from it, trust me.

Im in canada and my girlfriend is in australia, and has been for 2 and a half months and will be for another two and a half.

You gota make time, like sometimes i get it at 3 am to talk to her, email every day, do what you can and if you are comitted it works trust me. Just gota want it

people always bash long distance relationships, but it all depends on how you go into it. yeah..its hard as shit sometimes, but think about what you really want in the end..it'll get you though the hard times. and if it falls through, just remember you can't force something that wasn't meant to be. I've been doing a long distance thing with my bf for like 4 months and its hard, but you just focus on how much you love each other and it will work its self out. good luck.

BTW: Thread creator, I know what you`re going through, and it SUCKS. I`ve been with my girlfriend for 3 and a half years, 8 months of which have been long distance. I`m currently going to school at UVic and shes back in my home town (3 hour plane ride away). In three days it will be over, and all in all what will get you through it is:

- TRUST
- COMMUNICATION
- COMMITMENT
