I used to say the same thing, then I stopped being retarded.

Seriously, you hate it because you don't understand it. Baseball is a game where if you didn't grow up with it's hard to get in to. There are so many little things about the game that a casual observer wouldn't see. Plus you have to get to know the players.

So in short, you're a dumbass and this topic always gets brought up every April. So just wait a few hours til an NBA game comes on and stop bitching.

All growing up I had the same attitude. I played Lacrosse and thought Baseball players were a bunch of pussies. Now that Im older, I realize: How can you hate on a sport where you don't have to do shit 50% of the time, just it on the bench and bullshit, and the other 50% involves performing one of the hardest tasks in sporting, running a little bit and making crazy spectacular catches.

Sometimes it can get crazy. 20 Innings in the Mets Cards game. The Cards had a 2nd and 3rd Basemen Pitching a few Innings. Ending Score, Mets 2 Cards 1.

Is there some kind of scientific formula to calculate which sport takes more skill? I'm not saying baseball is easy, but definitively saying that something is the hardest thing to do in any sport is pretty ignorant imo.

Golf? To me the only argument people have with baseball is that it's the most skilled game when IMO golf is even more skillful. I've never been a fan of the game and only played for 2 years so I probably don't get the small things everyone is talking about. That shouldn't really matter because it's still very boring to watch.

I enjoy watching golf and even did so before I started playing simply for the fact that they always show someone hitting and there's always something to watch. In baseball most the game is spent waiting and there's very little action. If they were to speed up the game then I think more people might give it a shot.

It also doesn't help that many of the "top plays" are plays that your average athlete could also do (diving catches and stuff). I rarely see something that makes me say woah, whereas I see spectacular plays all the time in the NFL/NBA/NHL.

I'm sure it's hard as fuck, but try pole vaulting at a professional level... You can't even have an inkling of how fucking impossible that is until you've vaulted yourself, and even that takes months to years.

But alas, back to the topic. I wouldn't say I 'hate' baseball, but I certainly don't enjoy it. I've got respect for those who play it though.

Double post, but look at Mo Vaughn.  He was a baseball player who was terribly fat and unathletic.  If he didn't hit a homerun he got thrown out from the outfield.  He was a professional baseball player who was paid millions of dollars, yet fat as shit an could play no other professional sport, besides baseball.  This to me proves that playing baseball does not take a whole lot of athletic ability, or at least not compared to the other major sports.

Just throwing it out there, some show used physics and some other science, maybe chemistry, to prove that hitting a softball (thrown by jennie finch) is harder that hitting a baseball. WHERE'S YOUR GOD NOW?
