if my x-box burns out, i'm calling up microsoft and bitching at them until i get it either fixed or a new one. i didn't pay $400 on the console alone to limit my playing time because its going to burn out, i'm going to have that thing running night and day if i so please. i have the right to because i dropped somewhere around 500 and change (including everything else i buy ie. games/controllers) because i thought enough of their product to give them my business. if they can't produce a product for that kind of money i'm giving them, i'm going to sony. and i'll get free fucking live with it.
but if you ever have a problem, rant this on microsoft's customer service. they'll take care of you. don't spend a dime. if they refuse, go to the manager and be a dick
