Man Vs. Wild is ostensibly a program designed "to show you how to survive in the wild" by teaching you all sorts of insane fucking survival techniques.  In actuality, the show is more or less "look at how fucking awesome I am", because Bear Grylls does all sorts of superhuman insane shit that no other human being on the planet should ever be able to accomplish.

the only thing that'll spark my interest is if i hear a headline on the news saying tv star, and former british sas soldier bear grylls and camera crew were (insert problem that required emergency heli-evac) and then they make an episode about that

survivor man is a fucking boner. his show is fucking lame. i mean, yeah, the guy does have some skillz, but no where near that of bear grylls. just because survivor man carries his own camera does not mean that he is more hard core than a special forces soldier. bear has some of the best survival training that you can get. i don't understand the hate and skepticism? it's not like his camera crew is the only reason he is able to survive out there...

Bear does stuff to make him look badass and give his show credibility. Which is still has none. It makes noobs think hes the man.

probably because you have never been alone in the wild, most haven't. After surviving a sticky situation in a primitive area you would love watching survivor man.

so yea, i would agree with you: most people would find man vs. wild more entertaining. Just like most people enjoy car camping over backpacking.

the fact that he was a special forces soldier & also trained with the french foreign legion gives him so much more credibility than carrying around a couple of fucking cameras & batteries imho. i'm not really trying to knock les (even though i called him a boner), i've got respect for his skills, but his show is no where near as entertaining.

Skills or not I was talking about his show. It isn't really badass regardless of anything he does in the past.

And you must not know a lot about les or maybe have little respect. His knowledge in survival situations is pretty fucking sick. Showing you things you can eat, things to watch out for. Ways to survive in many different climates around the world. Doesn't have that shock factor that manvwild is going for to keep viewers, but way more badass.
