Using a hammock as a bed

hello members of newschoolers. i'm wondering if any users of this website have used a hammock as a full time bed before. i was perusing the website hammocks.com in search for a backyard summertime leisure device, but stumbled upon this compelling piece: http://www.hammocks.com/hammock-packages/healthfulsleeparticle.cfm

i slept on a hammock a few years back for a month or so while on a road trip/camping expedition
of the big 3 it mentioned my hammock was closest to the nicaraguan

i didnt really notice any health benefits and it took some getting used to since i typically sleep on my stomach

buy it and see if you like it.  they are typically used tropical countries to keep the things that go bump in the night off of you.

I may have to save up some money and buy one and try this out.. I love lounging in hammocks and sleeping in one does feel natural... hmm.

it depends of what kind and how you hang it but you can really fuck up your back from sleeping in them for a long time

this past week. some group of kids have been sleepin in hammoks outsides of my dorm.

I've actually done this...put hooks into the walls in my room and did it up...Can't say I recommend it. Beds are just so damn comfortable, and you can toss and turn on them however you want, while in a hammock its damn hard just to turn over.
Another thing is the hammocks with the wooden bars holding it all spread out (like the one on that link) are tippy as hell and i immediately noticed this by flipping out of it multiple times in my sleep. The other kind are comfy. but don't get rid of the bed.

A guy I worked with set up a hammock as a bed for a month or two, said it was super comfortable. I think you need to get it just right to be a bed, otherwise you'll wake up super sore. I have a hammock at home that I could NEVER imagine sleeping on, it sucks

on our camp trip in croatia i had the choice between a tentfloor (no mat or so) on rocky ground or a hammock. needless to say that i always slept in it. so nice. but would be awesome in a closed room.

I camp frequently in my tent hammock. It's a hennessey a-sym. Fucking dope.

I've slept in a hammock and really enjoyed it, but a word of warning, if you are drunk sleeping in a hammock is the worst thing ever, i don't know why but whenever i get hammered and sleep in a hammock i get the worst hangovers imaginable and feel like im going puke all night.

my friends always set up a hammock when they go camping to sleep in if the weather is nice. usually they'll find the most ridiculous place to set it up and use slack lines or something to make it secure. one time my friend set it up between two rocks on a hill, one of the cams fell off and he tumbled down the hill and landed right in front of a gopher snake.

but i sleep on my stomach so i could never sleep a full night in a hammock.
