Parents ever threaten to send you to military school?

I was sharing stories with a few of my friends this morning about this seemingly common threat that parents make around the time you're in 7th grade... I'm pretty sure every dude out there has probably received this threat from their parents at one time or another... most likely when they're like 12 or something...

I know I did.. parents almost sent me to some dipshit school in Northern Alabama, and looking back at it, the reason was quite funny to me...



Anyone remember when your parents threatened this to you?

I never got threatened... my parents always just did it without saying anything. Never got sent to a military school but I got thrown at in a Catholic school for a year until one day I asked "Why if he is all powerful didn't he say 'FUCK THIS' and just jump off the cross"... Yeah, I didn't last long after that.

My dad also almost hit me full in the face once. He had me by the collar and everything but didn't cause I was wearing glasses.

my parents used to threaten me all the time about military school.. but i knew they wouldnt. but one of my friends parents always calls the cops on him, he's gotten 4 curfew tickets in the last two months because of them (hes 16) and they make him pay every ticket he gets.. which leads himn to doing other bad stuff to get the money to pay the tickets off.. so i dont think it really works out that well..

my parents said do this or dont do that and that was the end of it. no empty threats, and none of this bullshit counting. hahaha

mine were rational enough not to threaten that because i knew very well they would never actually send me to military school

last year they did threaten a bunch of times to stop paying my tuition at prep school if i didn't get my grades up

In grade 8 my Dad was like, if you don't get a 80 average you're coming to live with me and going to military school here mmmbahhhhhhhh! So I got a fucking 97 average, and made him buy me a dirtbike..which I promptly broke.

That doesn't sound to bad, unless it was sit in your room until your dad gets home, then you'll get spanked so hard you won't be able to sit right for the next few days...

my mom was the one that dished out the spankings. i probably got a handful in my younger days. i never really misbehaved to the point of a spanking.


my dads gone between half and 2/3rds of my life. lol


most of the time she would just take away privileges. no physical punishment. but when youre 10 not getting to go outside and play with your friends is more torturous than any spanking.

yeah i cant remember ever receiving physical punishment. i got the soap in mouth once or twice.

but yeah mostly it was privileges.

although i did say "dammit" around my mom once. idk how old i was. but i remember her reaction.
(at the time i had no idea what the word was) lol

best thing my parents ever did for me growing up was not letting my brother or i have video games.

go OUTSIDE and use your imagination. have fun, whatever. just dont sit there playing video games..

yeah. we got game boys eventually, but that was more because wed go on LOOOOONG car trips in the summer, and when you are driving through bumble south dakota with nothing to even look at, you gotta have some sort of entertainment lol. but we never had a console or anything.

i read soooooo much as a kid. haha they actually used to take away reading as punishment sometimes lol

My friend from boarding school was sent to a military school after he got expelled from there
his parents tried to regiment his life instead of bothering to take time out of traveling for business to care
my parents sent me to boarding school when i was 15, loved it and was the most fun ever

when i heard they wanted to send me to schools back in the US, first thing i ever searched was ski resorts within a 50 mile range and even came up with a good list. my plan backfired since my parents took into consideration that i'd be ditching school to ski half the time so instead they sent me to Australia where resorts were 3-4 hours away and conditions were shit

Kinda. I got kicked outta (private) school in 5th grade, and sent me to, of all places, a boarding school in England. Can you imagine having nobody, no family or friends in the country, let alone vicinity, and being clueless about the area? At 11 years of age. Plus, I was a city kid, and they sent me to the middle of fucking nowhere. Not only did the school suck BALLS, it was in a village of like 3000 people with jack shit to do. Moved to secondary school after two years, it's better, but still sucks. Over the years I tried EVERYTHING with my parents to get me the fuck outta there. 6 years on, I'm still in the UK, fucking bitter as fuck with my rents. Haven't spoken to my dad in over 2 years.

Talk about blowing shit miles outta proportion.

i have had the threat and i know a kid who's parents actually did call the cops on him. but when the cops got there his dad punched him in the face so he then got the option to move out and live on his own with his parents having to pay for everything. he didnt move out but hes keeping this incase they piss him off so that he can threaten them with that.
