If it is like a park table you can always wait till you see someone else hit it. If you are hitting it first you have to speed check it and guess. knowing your speed will come easier with more experience.
i prefer to start a little lower with zero speed checks, because i always screw up with the right speed, and usualy case or over clear when given a longer run in
i fully understand that regardless of this disclaimer, i will still get accused of sucking his dick. thats ok though, i dont fucking care. because anyone who accuses me of being a shaun white dick-sucker obviously enjoys copious amounts of anal sex with farm animals, specifically pigs and dogs.

i always think about how cool it is how humans are so good at judging speed and stuff like that. really interesting all the math and estimations and projections and judgments we can make so quick
but anyway yeah judging speed can be a bit hard sometimes. like someone said its awesome if you can watch someone hit it first, or better yet just follow them into it. but if not you just gotta use your best judgment.. i dono
"America is all about speed. Hot, nasty, badass speed."
-Eleanor Roosevelt, 1936
If it's really gnarly play rock, paper, scissors with your buddies and who ever loses has to drop first. If he loses and overshoots just go a little slower and you'll be good. If you lose you might be fucked though
Just follow someone who has hit it already and bam you know the speed. I dunno if other parks are like this, but at pc they always have a rail/jump or flat knoll before the jump that you hit/start from then go straightish into (90% of the time) and the speed is perfect, sometimes its too fast but never too slow.
