Question: How to set up an urban rail?

I searchbar-ed it... nothin'


Ive never hit urban but the one time I almost did, the rail felt like it was gonna be reallyyyyy sticky. What should be done to the rail so that it slides smoothly?

the answer is wax. If you wax it up it should slide pretty well. normal like skate wax is what I use and it works.

never tried it. im sure it does its like the same thing. but skate wax never fails.

Probably would work, but ski wax is to expensive to waste on a rail, would probably be best to just use skate wax.

dood, u could even use a candle to wax it, it also depends on the material the rail is made of ie. whether it is smooth or not so much

the little tea light candles work well with most rails i find. bring a water bottle along as well so that if the snow is not packing very well you can spray some on the snow to make it pack better.

I have never waxed a rail. Usually I just run my skis over it by hand a few times (my urban skis are beat anyways) If it is particularly bad I will run a file over it, the kind that has diamond grooves instead of lines. I guess wax could work. If it is warm enough even rubbing snow on it can make it slide better, but be carful because at other times snow will actually make it stickier.

you generally dont need to wax the rail but run your ski over it and make sure its smooth, and use some skate wax (or even a candle) if you need to. also take some water with you in case the snow sucks for packing

thats a really nice drop in... im gunna try to build on like it now... but bring lots and lots of water just incase wax is good and def make sure u run ur skiis over the rail so u dotn hit somethin and die first hit... a filer would b good to get any rough spots off 2
