That promo vid was totally cheesy, but for real, that place doesn't look too bad, far better than the park at my home mountain. At least there are some legit jibs in there, and the jumps don't look tooooo haggard.

That bonk thing actually looked pretty fun haha, IMO.

Yes. The whole mountain is complete shit. The best part is that I don't get made fun of because everyone there sucks besides a few kids.

Jumps were in better shape a few years ago. They got some new rails but still. They got an order in when I worked there of super thin or aluminum rails that are just fragile. Park manager dropped the tiller on both sides of it. Being weak they bent down ridiculously far. He tried to unbend by lifting the blade and put a mcdonalds kink in that thing. The steel is so weak that me and danteron dug it out, set the middle leg on a 8 foot flat bar, and jumped lightly on the ends and it bent back instantly. Rails should just bend like that. Started avoiding that rail after.


Idk, it's just a missed potential mountain. They put so much money into everything else. State of the art everything, adding a new lift and trails every year it seems, place is pretty big these days. Yet they can't get there shit together with the parks.

They also tend to build short little take offs that are overly steep. The kind where it just feels awkward to clear it. The shit that makes your legs go over your head. It just seems like they just sort of wing it, sometimes it works out, but if it doesn't they just say fuck it and leave it.

Also me and dane went pretty much hand dug the pipe walls in sections so that it was rideable. They have a 12 or 14pipe dragon, they just can't use it. Digging the pipe was hilarious though. We just wanted to be able to ride it.

I still miss that place though. Repped that place for ever. Since the days of the gully and before. I still miss the fun we had from 05-08. I think that was the peak of gore at least IMO. 07-08 there were a fuck ton of park rats lapping there everyday.

I just woke up and saw this again, and I do have to take back my statement. Gore has some nice trails but the park is really pretty bad.

If you're riding gore, there are way better parks the same distance as jiminy. Mount snow is probably closer or the same.


Gore is a good mountain though. I really like the layout(other than the uphill trails)

When it's crowded and you aren't lapping the park you can stay up top and lap the straightbrook and get some laps on lies chatty glades and all that. It's sectioned off very nicely, but at the same time, you don't feel cheated on length when you want to cruise, from the triple down still feels like a nice run. Bummed they axed twister glades but whatever.

I haven't ridden the new lift at the ski bowl but I hiked the old tbar run and skid those woods before they built it and made trails.


Gore is a great mountain to ski, especially the value of the season pass for youth. 73 for a day ticket, or 350 ish for a full season? It just sucks that they'll never really get there shit together with their park.

I wish them the best, and I still try and make it once or twice a season to see everything, see some friends, and nostalgia, but also bummed at that place.

Some mountains just don't have the capabilities to built a good park. Insurance, snowmaking, gromming(cat's and having a dedicated park cat), staff to build/maintain, $ to buy rails/steel.

Also considering how many hours I worked off the clock to try and make sure the park was nice every day, I was a little bit saddened by the efforts they made to come after me after I left. Hell, somebody(obvious who) got in a huge shithole for sexual harassment, and they still give him comp tickets to come ride free, and he was still harassing people. But they had every department out to try and take my pass for simply trying to ride there the next season. I left that place because I wasn't going to build things shitty park for the kids. The day I quit I was actually hand raking the half pipe off the clock too make it rideable when johara decided to come up and start a shitstorm for no reason.

Apparently I was a douche because refused to build signs that said 40 feet to put on jumps that were 24 and 28 I think?


At least they kept up with my anti gaper fencing. That place was a gaper zoo. Seemed like there were people on the landing every run.

Hopefully my knee will heal up and I can come up and take a day there and see some people, see the locals, and maybe meet some of the newer mt jore crew. Hopefully on a day when lies is prime so if the park sucks I can hot lap that shit.

None of that featured the guy. None of those kids probably even work there anymore. Johara is the guy. I don't really want to get into that one. I just don't know if I'd drop anything close to passionate for a description.

Also when I had a pass there in 08/09 I had to rake things out myself just to have a proper sesh. Thought that was kind of ridiculous. It's not like they have a ridiculous amount of traffic like mount snow where you just can't keep up with everything.

But here's my anne frank moment. In spite of everything, I'm still rooting for them. Hopefully they get their shit together and build a nice park this year. I'm interested to check out the ski bowl and see if jason learned how to use the pipe cutter yet.

i got my first season pass to the mountain this year, hopefully they will step up and give me something to progress on....last year sucked

At least the mountain is legit. The glade both legit on map and the local ones are so much fun. Also a great set of nice reliable lifts. I didn't make it there last year but the year before I went twice and there were a couple decent features.


Dropping the rope on one chute on double barrel after that huge vday storm a few years back was probably the best run of my life. around 4 feet of virgin snow from the last 2 fays, no tracks and good base even under that.


That mountain alone is worth the pass. But it def sucks when the park isn't that fun.

Im looking forward to the next couple of days. I'll finally be able to ditch the shitty park at gore and enjoy some pow runs

I really want to see the DF in person. In the picture it looks like there's a gap on. Super great idea considering there a short time before you hit a very steep looking kink.

a few things:

MOUNT JORE! Went once last year and it was solid ice and the park was super sketch even without the ice.


But might hit early season if my heads better and I can get a cheap ticket. Also a spring day or two.

Pretty much nothing about the park this upcoming winter. Last year a couple of boxes from JibsForCribs were delivered opening day and they pretty much re-did the flat-down tube to make it less of a downward slope than it originally was.

Overall, the tree skiing was phenomenal this year, despite getting frostbite while skiing in Dark Side under the High Peaks double. From experience, Gore is way more known for the upper mountain instead of its park.
