i got chronics for my mountain ski and i have salamon 1080s for my fuck around ski. i want to remount them center so i can easily just play round with them. but ive herd of ppl mounting their bindings forward of true center. what is the purpose of this?
Most defnitely not. When you're in a proper skiing position, your weight is on the ball of your foot. This means that you should actually mount a bit behind true center for a balanced stance.
Also when i was young(er) and stupid(er) I mounted a pair of skis in front of true center. They felt absolutely gross and I don't recommend doing that in any situation.
My new life's are symmetrical fatties so it makes sense to mount them center. Plus I love jib-style riding in the pow. I can swing them around easily for slashes and butters and other Tom foolery. It's all person preference I guess.
