i got afterbangs today and rode them. they chipped a shit load wer heavy as fuck and wer soo flexxy i could get any pop hitting handrails was a major pain. are mine defective or something ?!?!

calm ur shit. id like to see pics of the afterbangs with att the scratchs. my friend got crhonics and they have a few topsheet chipand he was only using them half the day. the other half he was taking pics. from what i have heard is that the afterbangs r light super poopy good on rails etc. if u only have topsheet chipping then im not suprised because the abangs dont come with topsheet as u may know that already. its just the maple wood that is chipping which doesnt harm the preformance of ur skis. all the reviews ive read on abangs were nothing but good. except that a nsers kept landing frontseat when landing switch off of rails

plus it is a wooden ski they are bound to chip but its not like the whole topsheet will come off

You couldn't pop with Afterbangs???? That makes ZERO sense, I'm sorry, but come on, it's the poppiest ski I've ever skied, I can ollie onto things that people with other skis can't. Also, the "topsheet" problem has already been discussed, it chips a lot in the the beginning and then pretty much stops after about 3 days of skiing on it, plus that's all cosmetic and doesn't affect the ski at all.

Now, what size ski did you get and how tall are you and how much do you weigh? Cause you might have gotten the wrong size which could be the problem, or maybe your just not used to a soft ski (I had that problem in the beginning), or maybe you just need to get used to this particular ski, but to say that Afterbangs have no pop is pretty much false (as said above).

i dont understand why everyone cares so much about topsheet chipping. I didn't buy the ski for it to be a piece of art, i buy it to beat the crap out of it and have fun skiing

So you can't get onto rails?  Doesn't matter what ski you have, if you can get onto a rail with ski X, you should be able to with ski Y.

Afterbangs are a park jib ski, they are made with a bunch of flex for popping, butters, and presses.  Did you not read reviews on them?  Or ask anyone about them?

Sounds like your creating needless hate on these skis because you didn't do your home work.  Skis and boots aren't like going and buying a video game, they are an investment.

I've said this before, the top sheet is for "looks" and if you have some chips then it looks like you've been doing shit. And i do this will all my urban skis or ones im planning on them getting beat up. I go to Walmart i'm sure you know what that is and go to the spray paint isle and buy a Clear Laquer and spray it over your topsheeet. You never see it and it stops the chipping and when it starts chipping again put more laquer on it.

The actual look of it doesn't matter, but I'm pretty sure it was deep topsheet chips on Invaders and Anthems that let water into the core which led to the skis becoming rockered.

OK SO i had a real shitty day yesterday i was mad and frusterated. I went out and ride today and i was killing it i love these skis. I could ollie like 2 ft onto handrails and could 2 on and even learned how to buuter 2 on it was sick. i hit some jumps like 40's and they were great had lots of platform and pop just great in take back evrything i said it was just because ii was super pissed. Their ugly as fuck but ride great !
