Binding Mount Cost
So the closest shop to me wants $69.95 to mount and test bindings. These bindings are brand new and I have the tools to at least mount them at home. Is it worth it to try mount them at home and then get them to 'test and adjust' them for a lot cheaper? I'm very mechanically inclined so I don't think the mounting would give me a problem really. Or is it just better to let the shop handle everything all together?
If you ain't first, you're last.
I have never payed over $40.Costs are on the rise for many things, however. Is there only 1 option close to you? Maybe call and check other places? It is possible to free hand mount at home but there are many factors that could hurt you and your skis in doing so. I have done it to my rail skis but would rather have my expensive gear jigged. I would check around first. Places the liability on someone else which may be worth the $70 in itself.
you guys are super flamers, do you guys even no how to properly shred a groomer.
Most shops around me are $40, but I've heard of places charging $75. I say it's best to let the shop do it. If they do a perfect job, then you paid $70 for an awesome set up and piece of mind. If they screw it up, it's on them to replace/compensate you, whereas if you screw it up, it's on you.
a one-man wolf pack.
That's pretty steep for a mount. All binding work is free at my local store if you purchase new bindings from them (usually the case for most stores).
I've brought in a 12 pack to some shop techs in the past for a quick (and free) mount at a store up in Whistler too.
if you're very competent mechanically, you have the perfect tools, and you have tons of patience, you can mount them yourself, but it is very difficult and nerve wracking
My terrible photos
RIP Shane, you will be missed
dude you should go to a shop like said above for rail skis but if these are your good skis and you got one shot let the shop do it , but there has to be some place that will mount them cheaper my shop is like thirty bucks
