AC Joint help needed

So about a year and a few months ago I was hit by a car on my bike and long story short, I got a pretty bad AC joint separation. It has healed for the most part, but is definitely weaker than it was before the accident and any sort of hard impact throws my shoulder and arm out of commission for a few days minimum.

Has anyone dealt with this before/ have any knowledge of strengthening solutions or protection for it?

Any help would be very appreciated.

if youve got a gym with a pool near you, that is the absolute best thing for it.  i separated mine in january, grade 3 separation.  i was skiing again 4 days later, only had it in a sling for about an hour, both of which were terrible ideas.  but when i finally had a chance to get after to rehabbing this summer, swimming was the best thing by far.  low impact and great for increasing strength in your shoulder without straining the injury.

^this I did that a few years ago to mine playing hockey and I swam more and more. It has gotten a decent amount stronger but the doctor did say mine would never get back to how it was.

yeah it never will, unless you got under the knife to get those ligaments, youre still gona be stuck with a loose collarbone for the rest of your life, and a nice knob on your shoulder to fuck with.

ya i still have my knob but the only movement that really give me pain and this is two years after the fact is throwing a baseball for an extended period.

I would agee with the above.
i separated my in 2005.  I was still growing at the time, and extra bone grew on the end of my clavicle as a result of the stretched tissue.  So I have a large bump on my shoulder. 
Like above, I was skiing a few days after.  But it was sore and I did not have full strength for about two months.  For example, I fell on it about 1.5 months after, and could not ski for a few days after because of the pain. 
In conclusion, (though my was not a 3) you will be skiing, but it will be nagging for a good part of the season, and you will need to be proactive in strengthening it.  Go to PT if you have health insurance.

PM Inthefade11 he fucked up his AC joint about a year and a half a go and knows some pretty good exercises to help fix it.

yeah man i hurt my ac joint this summer at windells and its still really weak if you want good help you just got to go to physiotherapy and they give you really good shoulder strengthening exercises and help you progress faster then normal

I separated my AC joint two seasons ago when i overshot a jump skiing and got concussed. Due to the concussion, the shoulder injury never really occurred to me at the time. I never did any physical therapy or anything, but i played baseball all spring (well, once my shoulder was actually good enough to throw/swing), and all summer. I haven't had a problem with it since. Although come to think of it i fell pretty hard on that shoulder last season and it was fucked up for a day or so, i really thought got a separation agian, so maybe it isn't really healed all set... damn.
